GOATS MILK is preferred by many people all over the world over cow’s milk. The habit of drinking goat’s milk is not yet as popular here in the Philippines than in other parts of the world because our basic orientation has always led us to the assumption that the only great source of milk are cows.
Little did we know that for centuries, a lot of people have already recognized the value of drinking goat’s milk and scientific research have proven that GOATS MILK have certain advantages and more health benefits than any other milk.
Without sounding too technical, here are a few facts about the goat’s milk that all of us should know:
Complete Protein with Less Fat Content
GOATS MILK contains all essential Amino Acids which are the building blocks of proteins with lesser fat contents that allows for better digestion and highly suitable for those recuperating from disease or other health conditions. Unlike in cow’s milk, goat’s milk does not contain agglutinin which makes it easier to digest.
Milk for Lactose Intolerant People
GOATS MILK contains slightly a lower level of lactose. Also, some proteins, specifically casein, which are known to cause allergic reactions and are present in other milk are largely absent in goat’s milk.
Vitamin and Mineral Packed
GOATS MILK contains 13% more calcium, 25% more vitamin B-6, 47% more vitamin A, 134% more potassium, and 3x more niacin. It is also 4x higher in copper. Goat’s milk also contains 27% more of the antioxidant selenium than cow’s milk. It is also rich in zinc, choline, iron and the vitamins D, C, E, K, B12, riboflavin, phosphorus and pantothenic acid.
Another important fact about goats milk is its chemical composition which is very similar to that of a mother’s milk. But of course, breast milk is still best for babies.
Drinking goat’s milk also helps you lose weight. More than building strong bones and teeth, calcium, which is found at high levels in goat’s milk, has been found to boost the body’s ability to burn fat after a meal. Regular intake of goat’s milk is also said to reduce the risk of breast and colon cancers, and help prevent migraine headaches.
The reason I am writing about the benefits of goat’s milk here in my blog is because I recently got introduced to this local company that distributes goats milk products here in the Philippines. I immediately got interested and did my own little research on it. It’s just odd that I have known goat’s milk to be a great substitute for cow’s milk for a very long time but only got to try it last week.
