SKY’S TWO-HEADED FISH
NOPE.. This is not it.
Sky’s two-headed fish is not some freak of nature animal, or a mutated new species, or an alien.
It’s not the picture on the left.
It’s actually, a delicious dish.
Earlier this morning, Tam prepared for us a tasty BRUNCH and when all is ready she asked Sky what she wanted to eat with rice.
She then told her Mommy, “I want Chicken Nuggets.. I don’t want the two-headed fish.”
“What two headed fish?”
This two headed fish:
DANGGIT! (Dried and Salted Mini-Fish)
hehehehehehe (oo nga naman.. parang two-headed fish kasi ang itsura.. hehehe)
It’s been three days now and i’m still laughing )
Tam and Neo (My 12 year old) got a dose of new vocabularies from Sky (my 6 year old) when they went to Mass last Sunday.
From what they’ve told me, I think they had a hard time concentrating the whole 1 hour of Mass Service because aside from the funny sounding priest that officiated the mass, Sky released some new vocabularies, unintentionally.
Vocabulary Number 1: KISS BE WITH YOU
How to use it:
Sky: “Mommy… kelan yung KISS BE WITH YOU???” – She was actually asking about the part of the mass when the priest say “Peace be with you” and we answer “And also with you” – and then the priest asks everyone to say their peace with each other. We usually kiss her during this part of the Mass, so therefore she conclude…. KISS BE WITH YOU. hehehe )
Vocabulary Number 2: WAGAY-WAGAY
How to use it:
Sky: “Mommy… i WAGAY-WAGAY mo na yung Palaspas” – the word we are looking for is supposed to be Wagayway – as in wave like a flag. hehehe
Vocabulary Number 3: OFERTORYERS
How to use it:
Sky: “Mommy… asan na yung mga OFERTORYERS” – What she was looking for are actually the Mass Collectors – but the part of the mass is called the OFFERTORY, so therefore she conclude… OFFERTORYERS )
Be back for more
My 7 year old SKY is fond of telling stories of her adventures and misadventures in school. Actually, she’s fond of talking (period) .
Just the other night, she told us about what she did in school – actually she was narrating it to her Mom and I was just eavesdropping.
She said that they were asked to write and recite some rhymes in front of the class. She was telling us about classmates who made such wonderful rhymes and poems and then when it was her turn, she recited this.. (of course with her signatured stage presence)
ROSES ARE RED, VIOLETS ARE BLUE… IF GOD MADE ME BEAUTIFUL… WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?
We burst into laughter and asked where did she got that rhyme. And she told us that it was from a line she remembered in a VCD that I bought two years ago, I think. She said that it was the POOH and POKWANG video. And we laughed even more.
“And what was the reaction of your teacher to your rhyme?” We asked. ”They all laughed.” She said.
LAGOT kami. Hehehehehe.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Falls
July 23, Yesterday.. I picked up Sky from her school at around quarter to 1 but it rained so hard that we can’t walk to the jeepney station.
So, Sky and I decided to have lunch at SM Sta. Mesa until the rain stop. So we ate at Wendys and then waited and waited and waited but the rain won’t stop.
Later, that afternoon while going around the mall, we stopped by the cinema area and I started taking pictures of Sky with the movie posters and the standees.
The poster in the picture that I posted here was the latest Disney movie called “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” which stars Nicolas Cage. According to movie critics, this was the 2nd Disney Flop this year following the “Prince of Persia” – showing us that movie goers would go for a good script rather than awesome special digital effects.
Ironically, the fall of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” takes a new form that afternoon. Sky was posing on the standee when she accidentally leaned on it that it slowly fell to the tune of “Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh…” from all the people in the cinema area.
I was like, “Sorry… sorry” to the guard that helped me picked up the huge cardboard standee. And the guard was saying “it’s ok sir..” smiling like this was some kind of a coffee break for him.
Luckily Sky was not hurt and no one was standing behind the standee when it fell.
The picture below was taken seconds before I started running to save the falling standee. I failed. And maybe, Disney also failed to save the movie “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” as well. Hehehe.
It’s a wonderful feeling!
I have an 11 year old son and he’s every bit like me. Introverted yet so expressive. You have to see his drawings, he’s really great. He likes all sorts of junks and inventing things. He likes cool gadgets and listening to music. He reminds me of Bert of Sesame Street because he likes to crack jokes that just don’t make any sense. The jokes aren’t funny but he is. Although sometimes he’s insensitive, lacks initiative, timid and not too attentive.. but he is a kind, caring, intelligent, responsible and loving individual.
I have a 6 year old little girl who is very talkative. She is very intelligent. She likes singing, dancing and performing on stage. My little fashionista. She excels in almost everything in class however she’s most of the time impatient. She makes all sorts of comments and gestures that just make your day even if you’re under the weather. She’s miss little friendly, a real PR person in the making. Her two favorite past time? – eating and watching dvd. Her favorite expression to me as of this moment is “I’ll make you proud, Daddy.” hehehe.
I am very thankful to have these two. They actually get along with each other, give or take a few squabbles every now and then which is quite normal to all kids specially when they’re both so very sleepy. They’re both messy and overly active (sobra sa kulit).. but they are the spices of my life. My salt and pepper and I love them both very much.
Neng, i’m sure that we have made the two best unplanned decisions of our lives.
Happy Father’s Day to all dads, would be father and the father by deed and heart.
To my Tatay, wherever you are now, HAPPY FATHERS’ DAY to you!
We went home very late last night, It was Tatay Mar’s birthday.
As my two kids (Neo and Sky) was getting ready for bed.. my 6 year-old Sky excitedly said to Kuya Neo- ”LET’s PLAY!” (They both have new toys from their tatay and nanay that’s why she’s so excited)
Her Mom heard this and said – “What!? Who said that?” (We have explicitly told them earlier that there will be no playing in the house when we get home since it’s already very late)
Neo defensively said – “Not me.. SKY.”
Sky being the guilty one then said… “LET’S PRAY?”
hahahaha :) nakalusot na naman…
