On October 26 (Saturday), Minola Premium Coconut Cooking Oil sponsored another forum about the role that Coconut Oil plays in a Ketogenic Diet. The last time they did was in February last year.

The exclusive event held at Oracle Hotel in Quezon City gathered old and mostly new members of the Ketogenic Diet Philippines Group who are looking for inspiration and more information about the Keto Diet.

The primary interests of attendees are rooted on learning more about the effectiveness of the diet, its side-effects, what to do, what to eat, and the importance of using coconut oil as an essential element in the regimen.

COCONUT OIL, according to Dr. Fabian Dayrit who was the first resource speaker during the forum, is probably the best supplementation to the Keto Diet because it MCTs or MCFAs (Medium Chain Fatty Acids).

Ketogenic Diet is a dietary method that does not only improve the fat profile of a person but also serves as a therapeutic program for various illnesses especially when enhanced with Coconut Oil.

A high intake of fat is of course an essential part of the diet but not all fats are good, MCFAs those that are found in Coconut Oil are the best type of fats. MCFAs particularly caproic (C6), caprylic (C8), capric (C10) and Lauric (C12) pass directly through the veins and are immediately converted to Ketones in the liver. They are not stored as fat – an added benefit for those aiming to lose weight.

Minola Premium Coconut Cooking Oil is actually considered as a “healthy” food because it’s rich with MCFAs. These so-called fatty acids are similar to what is found in a mother’s milk which is attributed to many beneficial effects in humans particularly as an anti-mircrobial, anti-viral and anti-bacterial agent.

Minola Premium Coconut Oil is a vegetable oil and does not contain cholesterol nor transfat.

The use of Minola Coconut Cooking oil in preparing for your Keto Meals will definitely enhance the beneficial effects of the diet.

Aside from Dr. Dayrit, we also heard from Dr. Regina Banda who discussed about the best dietary plans to help one with their Ketosis Goal – or the state where our body uses FAT rather than glucose (sugar) from carbohydrates as its primary source of energy.

We also heard testimonies from Ms. Virna Veloso (a nurse), Ms. Desa Apostol, Ms. Toni Rose Sosa and Ms. Marlyn Joven.

Nurse Virna Veloso particularly shared that going on a Keto Diet not only helped her shed some weights (from 110kgs to 65kgs) but also helped her manage her medical condition called PCOS or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

She said that going on a Ketogenic Diet is not going to be a walk-in-the-park, there will be some challenges along the way but it’s going to be worth it because “the” diet really works.
