Breakfast as they say is the most important meal of the day!
The sad part is, if you’re like me and you have a really messed-up body clock – you’d probably skipped breakfast more than half the time the whole week. And that is why I look forward to Sunday mornings ’cause that’s the only time that I get to enjoy some quality breakfast.
Much has been said about the health benefits of regularly taking breakfast and here is probably one of the most important reasons why you should start getting into the breakfast habit again.
Breakfast helps you lose weight. Some people used to believe that skipping it is a good way to lose weight but the truth is that it’s the other way around. Studies say that people who eat healthy breakfast are more successful in their weight loss efforts. Eating breakfast helps kick start your metabolism, getting you to breakdown your food intake more efficiently plus you’re less likely to get comfort snacks later in the day.
Another great reason is that a good and nutritious breakfast like those that are rich in fiber and protein gives you more energy to get you through the day. And like what a known vitamin brand slogan say, ‘More energy – more happy.’
So let’s start our day with a great breakfast.
And because it’s a near freezing 8˚C in Baguio City today I just had a simple Baguio-inspired breakfast involving just a medium roast Illy drip coffee, some pullman loafs and a CLARA OLE Strawberry Jam.
There are also other CLARA OLE Jams to select from like Orange Marmalade, Pineapple Jam, Mango Pineapple Jam, Mango Jam, Blueberry Jam and Guava Jelly.
Also in Baguio City is the former American R&R base called Camp John Hay, and so, and in honor of this place (stretching hehe) I also prepared a second breakfast involving one of the old time American favorite – Pancakes! I used CLARA OLE Maple Pancake Syrup on it. In fact, I also used the syrup on the bagels and the croissants that I got from Santis.
I love CLARA OLE’s maple syrup and it also comes in a sugar-free variant, but if you’re not the maple type of person, you may want to try some of CLARA OLE’s other syrups like their Original Pancake Syrup, Cinnamon, Choco, Choconut, Banana Apple Cinnamon, Strawberry Bananamia, Blueberry Thrill and Groovy Strawberry.
Ok those are not exactly as healthy as eating oats (which we have also) but like I said I missed Baguio and I just thought that if I can’t actually go there right now, at least I could eat a Baguio-themed breakfast and imagine that I am there since Metro Manila is a cool-enough 21˚C this morning. Probably the closest we could get to a Baguio temperature this year.
