At the thanksgiving celebration held last Thursday (October 27) at the Mapua University Makati Campus, President and Chief Executive Officer Reynaldo B. Vea said that the achievement is a result of a 20-year campaign focused on teaching quality and capability, research, and international linkages.

“It is the outcome of a two-decades-long drive, and the concerted efforts of the entire Mapua community – students, faculty, administrative staff, alumni, officers, and trustees.”

Better things are indeed to happen in the coming years for Mapua.

Earlier in 2021, Mapua introduced the Arts and Design track for its Senior High School which focuses on graphic design, animation and video production, screenwriting, film production process, visual content process, digital journalism, and audio production.

With its curriculum’s focus on the creative skills and career opportunities, the Arts and Design track is aligned with the Mapua college programs in Advertising Design, Broadcast Media, Digital Film, Digital Journalism, and Multimedia arts, all offered in the University’s School of Media Studies.
The Arts and Design track is in addition to Mapua Senior High School’s offering of Academic track, which includes the following strands: Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM); General Academic Strand (GAS); Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS); and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Mapua also introduced HyFlex (hybrid flexible) classes as an answer to the ongoing health risks brought about by the pandemic. This provide learners greater flexibility than ordinary hybrid classes by giving students options and greater access to both on site and online classes synchronous or asynchronously.

Earlier this year, Mapua University has formally announced its partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) for a joint initiative to expand the access of Filipino students to high quality international education in both business and health sciences through the ASU-Cintana Alliance.

Mapua, a premier engineering and technological university in the Philippines which has received the QS 4-Stars Ranking in Asia is the one and only school in the country to be recognized as a member of the ASU-Cintana Alliance.

Mapua University also hinted future collaborations with other international schools.

With its new international status, the country’s leading engineering and technological school is further challenged to improvement of its curriculum, faculty, teaching methodologies, and research arm.
