BDO Celebrates 27th Migrant Workers Day

BDO Unibank co-sponsored the celebration of the 27th Migrant Workers Day held at the POEA office in Mandaluyong and the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia on June 7.

This annual celebration is aimed at recognizing the valuable contributions and sacrifices of all Filipino migrant workers – our modern day heroes.

Hosted by stand-up comedians, MC and Lassie, the morning events at the POEA office featured fun games and surprises for everyone who were at the venue. Migrant Workers Secretary Abdullah Mama-O delivered the events welcoming address while BDO Senior AVP Vicente Lopez shared money-saving tips for OFWs and the importance of having a BDO Kabayan Account as well as the important features of BDO Remit that makes sending money from abroad fast, safe and easy.

Lopez conducts financial literacy webinars for OFWs while highlighting BDO’s digital products and services aimed at making the lives of OFWs and their families back home, easier.

Meanwhile, events at the SM Mall of Asia was spearheaded by DOLE’s Overseas Workers Welfare Organization (OWWA) where the agency recognized various social partners which includes BDO.
