STADA Acquires Vitamin Brand FERN-C, FERN-C Kidz and Kiddimin

STADA Philippines formally announced its acquisition of the vitamin brand FERN-C together with FERN-C Kidz and Kiddimin – all part of the FERN retail portfolio which has been in the market for 15 years already.

A German pharmaceutical company, the STADA Group have initiated a number of acquisitions and partnerships in Europe and is now expanding its portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region.

Not known to many, STADA has a long history of selling pharmaceutical products here in the Philippines, formerly through Croma Medic Inc. which was acquired by STADA and recently renamed into STADA Philippines.

In an event held at Shangri-la The Fort Taguig yesterday (February 7), STADA Philippines General Manager Sharmaine Abarientos and Business Unit Manager Genielyn Lorenzo said that the acquisition will further strengthen their position in the market as one of the leader in the distribution of quality health products here in the Philippines.

“FERN has not only an established brand heritage, but also a complete range for adults as well as for the pediatric application. With FERN in our portfolio, we will establish a strong consumer healthcare platform to launch other quality medicines as well and provide better health for all Filipinos. With our successful portfolio expansion activities, we are able to offer quality medicines at reasonable prices, across all segments of healthcare; specialty, generics and consumer health.” Abarientos said.

Another wonderful announcement is that while FERN-C, Fern-C Kidz and Kiddimin are already available in Watsons and other drugstores, the brand will also be soon available in Mercury Drug outlets nationwide.

Fern-C is Sodium Ascorbate, a milder and non-acidic alternative to Ascorbic Acid. Recommended dosage is 1-2 capsules per day.
