Perpetual Help Medical Center–Las Piñas (PHMC-LP) recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with a gala honoring five decades of healthcare service, institutional growth, and commitment to quality, while looking ahead to a future shaped by innovation and excellence.
Held at Cove Manila, Okada Manila, the celebration carried the theme “Golden Threads: Weaving a Legacy Together for PHMC-LP.” Secretary of Health Dr. Edwin M. Mercado served as Guest of Honor and speaker. The evening also celebrated the birthday of Dr./BGen Antonio L. Tamayo, founder, chairman, and CEO of the DALTA Group of Companies, whose vision and leadership helped shape the Perpetual Help legacy.
Four international standards, one commitment to quality
A major highlight was PHMC-LP’s achievement of four international ISO certifications, reflecting its commitment to continuous improvement and internationally recognized management standards.
These are ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management, ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety, ISO 50001:2018 for Energy Management, and ISO 7101:2023 for Healthcare Quality Management.
The certificates were presented to Dr./BGen Tamayo during the gala. The achievement reflects the collective efforts of the teams involved and reinforces the institution’s commitment to healthcare quality, patient and workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.
The celebration also recognized Dr. Virginia P. Crisostomo for leading the successful Breastfeeding Congress and Dr. Nelia Frances Llanto for her leadership in attaining the four ISO certifications. Both received plaques of appreciation for their contributions during the anniversary year.
Honoring the people behind the legacy
An anniversary highlight video revisited the year’s activities, including the Run for Gold Fun Run, Wish Bus Roadshow, motorcade, Golden Bazaar, HMO Night, Breastfeeding Congress, and various awards and recognitions.
The event also honored awardees from PHMC-LP and the JONELTA School of Medicine, acknowledged alumni, and paid tribute to former hospital director Mrs. Cristina M. Consing. The presentation of the 50th Legacy Constellation Icon symbolized the individuals whose contributions have become part of the institution’s enduring story.
Building the next 50 years
The gala also showcased new and upcoming projects, underscoring PHMC-LP’s commitment to strengthening its capabilities and responding to the evolving needs of the communities it serves.
As it enters its next chapter, PHMC-LP remains guided by its commitment to being “Dedicated to Life.” Its golden anniversary celebrates not only what has been accomplished over five decades, but also the people, values, and shared purpose that will carry its legacy forward.
Fifty years of healing. Fifty years of service. A legacy woven together—and a future built to last.
