Into the Woods: Teamfight Tactics’ New Set ‘Enchanted Wilds’ is Pure Magic

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to lose yourself in the Convergence, it’s time to pack your bags. Riot Games has officially pulled back the curtain on the next Teamfight Tactics set, and it’s shaping up to be their most whimsical—and potentially chaotic—adventure yet.

Titled Enchanted Wilds, this new set trades the high-tech or grit of previous iterations for a lush, mystical forest filled with ancient magic, colossal creatures, and, yes, a whole lot of fairy-tale charm.

Set to hit the PBE on July 28, Enchanted Wilds isn’t just a new coat of paint; it’s a complete evolution of how you approach the board. Here is everything you need to know before you start your climb.

Wisps: The Return of a Fan-Favorite

Remember the beloved Charms from Magic N’ Mayhem? They’re back, but they’ve undergone a serious glow-up. Renamed Wisps, these magical entities act as temporary, single-use power-ups you can snag from your shop each round.

Whether you need a quick combat boost, an economic injection, or a risky gamble to turn your game around, Wisps are your go-to. The devs have promised improved clarity and a total visual overhaul—each Wisp you buy will dash, hop, or fly across your screen with its own unique animation. It’s a mechanic that feels both strategic and undeniably adorable.

Traits That Go Beyond the Board

The roster of traits in Enchanted Wilds is built for those who love to experiment. We’re looking at some heavy hitters here:

  • Riftbeasts: Ever wanted to command a stampede of iconic League of Legends jungle monsters? This vertical trait lets you buff your beasts with the Alpha Mark system (think Red and Blue buffs, plus new variants like Gromp’s poison). Go deep enough into this trait, and you can recruit the legendary Elder Dragon as a two-slot board boss.
  • Elderwood: This vertical trait is all about board presence. You’ll be placing magical plants that provide defensive utility and frontline support, making it the perfect foundation for more defensive-minded players.
  • The Eclipse Secret: Here’s where things get interesting. Enchanted Wilds features the Sunbeam and Moonbeam traits, which are great on their own. However, if you manage to combine both, you unlock the secret Eclipse trait, which executes the lowest-health enemy every few seconds. Expect this to be the most contested synergy in the early meta!

Legendary Legends: Draven, Ivern, and Lux

The Legendary pool is bringing some serious personality to the game.

  • Draven introduces a personal bounty system, turning every match into a scavenger hunt for extra gold and power.
  • Ivern is essentially playing a different game entirely. His “Greenfather” trait allows him to plant seeds that transform your battlefield into specific biomes, granting buffs to units standing on them.
  • Lux makes a grand return, acting as a flexible powerhouse that counts twice toward her chosen Origin—just be careful, as other players can’t pick her up for that same Origin while you’ve got her on your bench or board.

A New Chapter for TFT

Set Design Lead Matthew “Wittrock” Wittrock summed it up perfectly: “Enchanted Wilds is a set focused on flexibility and exploration.” Between the return of the Carousel and the ability to pivot between massive vertical synergies and experimental combos, this set feels designed to keep us guessing until the very last turn.

Whether you’re looking to dominate the competition or just want to enjoy the new Chibi Soul Fighter Jinx cosmetics, the Enchanted Wilds is looking like a must-play.

Mark your calendars for July 28—the forest is calling. Are you ready to find your path?
