Actions for Earth-Global Youth Summit 2026: Empowering Youth for Responsible Consumption and Environmental Action

The Actions for Earth – Global Youth Summit 2026 welcomed delegates, international judges and speakers from Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, South Korea, India, Mongolia and Philippines at Wyndham Davao, with guest of Honor City Councilor Temujin Ocampo.

 “Youth are the pillar of hope in taking actions with a commitment to move beyond awareness to implementation. The theme Actions for Earth is not a suggestion but a mandate turning hypocrisy to policy, the driving force of climate in action. The youth are the driving force to ignite solutions to resonate far beyond these walls of this summit,” said Ocampo

The delegates participated in a competition on project presentations on sustainability and visited Barangay Matina Aplaya Badjao Community engaging with the villagers to understand the impact of polluted water body. 

The summit highlighted the signing of Memorandum of Understanding with India, Indonesia, Mongolia and South Korea to host Actions for Earth Global Youth Summit in their respective countries, fostering international environmental collaboration and provide networking opportunities for delegates.

Gino Perez, Environmental Management Specialist, City Environment & Natural Resources Office stated,

“The youth ignite environment sustainability at the grassroots level of the community. They make us proud and hopeful, and we encourage them to pursue their passion for environmental advocacy.” 

Awards and Recognition 

The program awarded the top three groups in both Junior and Senior categories for the most effective environmental solutions. Each winning group received an award valued at 10,000 SGD, sponsored by the Hemispheres Foundation

From a total of 21 sustainability projects presented, 14 years old Sabpiyan Sofan from Cambodia took home the 1st place for the Junior Category with his ‘Sustainable Green School’ and 18 years old Muhammad Seno Ibrahim from Indonesia won the 1st place for the Senior Category with his “Coral Reefs” project.

The Program Impact Beyond Practical Experience and Creative Learning 

The summit aims to raise awareness and understanding about natural resources, environmental issues, clean water, energy, recycling, forest and water resources, biodiversity, and climate change adaptation. 

The activities at the summit were intended to inspire change, lifestyle adjustments, and a sense of responsibility for environmental protection among students—the future leaders of their countries. 

The program also south to identify and empower promising young leaders to drive conservation communication and further spread the environmental movement. 

Global Initiatives and Sustainable Development Goals 

The international youth participants brought sustainable projects and solutions aligned with United Nations sustainable development goals, such as clean water and sanitation, affordable clean energy, decent work and economic growth, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, marine and land resource management, and measures to tackle air pollution and climate change. 

Organizers and Purpose 

The summit was organized by the Hemispheres Foundation, Singapore, in collaboration with the Students’ Environmental Alliance of Davao and Shalma Guro Panabula. The main objective is to empower communities by developing practical models, initiatives, and solution that promote the responsible use of natural resources, environmental protection, and responsible consumption in the fight against climate change. The summit integrates environmental education with sustainable development goals under the central theme of “Responsible Consumption”.
