Singer Songwriter XinU Dropped New EP “XinU EP#04”

XinU

Music collective XinU (pronounced Shin-yu) released its latest EP “XinU EP #04” (pronounced Shin-yu EP Sharp Four) on November 12 (Wed), under King Records’ HEROIC LINE.

This marks XinU’s first major-label EP and fourth EP overall. Songwriters include Michael Kaneko, who also performed at the XinU-hosted event “Collective” in August; Yushi Nakajima (Gusokumuzu); and M-Swift, who has supported XinU’s music since its early days. The EP also features Aile The Shota, resulting in a work that extends the world of the “XinU Music Collective” while reaching a new and more expansive creative stage.

In addition, the music video for the lead track “Day 6”, produced by Michael Kaneko is also available. “Day 6” is a song that depicts six days before and after a breakup, starting from the day the relationship ends. While holding onto the memories of their separation, the song portrays the two ultimately stepping toward their own separate futures. In the music video, XinU herself plays the lead role, taking on the most acting she has ever attempted. Items such as a Soarer car and a CRT television appear throughout the video, creating a retro atmosphere.

“Since my debut, I’ve been singing with my emotions carried by beat music. At first, my lyrics were often introspective as I faced myself, but through performing live both in Japan and abroad—and experiencing that feeling of unity with everyone—the desire to ‘groove together’ grew stronger. That shift in mindset naturally found its way into my lyrics as well. I also challenged myself with new beats, and I hope this EP can be felt as the beginning of a new chapter. Over ten months from January 2025, I poured my heart into creating these six tracks. Since it’s my first major-label release, there were many moments of trial and error, but ultimately I focused on honestly pursuing what I truly wanted to try, and that’s how I made it to the finish line with work I can genuinely be proud of. This EP represents a new step forward—please give it a listen.”
