Actor Kiko Estrada to Honor FPJ and His Lolo Paquito in New TV5 Action Series TOTOY BATO

The legendary Filipino action hero, Totoy Bato, originally brought to life by the late Fernando Poe Jr., is making a comeback, this time on TV5’s TodoMax Primetime Singko block. The iconic character, created by Carlo J. Caparas, will premiere on May 5, 2025, reigniting the spirit of heroism for a new generation of viewers. Taking on the mantle of Totoy Bato is Kiko Estrada, who is building upon the momentum of his recent acclaimed performance in “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa.” Estrada will embody the defiant and courageous protector of Pook Paraiso, a small town in need of his unwavering justice.

In a recent interview, Kiko Estrada specifically said that the ultimate goal of the series is for the audience to feel the presence of the late Fernando Poe Jr., the king of Philippine action movies, in all the scenes. He also dedicated his performance to his lolo Paquito Diaz who is also part of the original movie adaptation.

Fresh from his year-long primetime success, Kapatid’s Prince of Primetime Kiko Estrada steps into the titular role of Totoy Bato. Set in the small town of Pook Paraiso, Totoy Bato’s story gives rise to a defiant protector of his community with his powerful “kamao” and his unshakeable heart. As he faces powerful enemies, Totoy’s journey will challenge him to break down towering walls and fight his inner demons.

Joining Kiko in Totoy Bato’s powerhouse cast are Bea Binene as Emerald Espejo, Totoy’s childhood friend who also leads a secret life as an agent; Cindy Miranda as Amber Castillo, an ambitious daughter of rival Castillo family; and Diego Loyzaga as Dwayne Perez, another childhood friend turned archenemy. The cast also features a stellar roster of veteran actors, including Nonie Buencamino, Art Acuña, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Mon Confiado, and Ms. Eula Valdez, with special appearances by Joko Diaz, Katya Santos, Kean Cipriano, Carlene Aguilar, and Ms. Jackie Lou Blanco. Completing the solid lineup are Andrew Muhlach, Billy Villeta, Ivan Padilla, Lester Llansang, Benz Sangalang, Gold Aceron, CJ Caparas.

Directed by Albert S. Langitan, who also helmed Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa, the action-drama series is produced by MavenPro, Sari Sari Network Inc., under the production of Studio Viva, and will be available on TV5 and Sari Sari Channel.

Catch Totoy Bato’s premiere on May 5, 2025 as it airs from Monday to Friday at 7:15 PM on TV5’s TodoMax Primetime Singko block, with same-day catch-up on Sari Sari Channel at 8PM.
