The Philippines’ Top 15 Dollar Billionaires of 2024

Forbes has released its annual Billionaires list, showing the number of dollar billionaires from the Philippines increased from 14 last year to 16 in 2024. The total number of billionaires worldwide is projected to rise from 2,640 to 2,781, with a combined net worth of $14.2 trillion. The wealth of the Philippines’ 50 richest families remains relatively stable at $80.8 billion, or P4.63 trillion, compared to last year’s P4.5 trillion.

The list is based on shareholding and financial information, which covers family fortunes, including assets shared by extended families.

The Sy Siblings have risen to the top, surpassing tycoons like Manuel Villar, Ramon Ang, the Ayalas, and Enrique Razon Jr. Their group is now valued at $1.3 billion less this year due to a six-percent decline in the peso. Enrique Razon Jr. and Manuel Villar now occupy the second and third positions, respectively, with Villar having held the top spot last year.

Vivian Que Azcona, the Po family, and Soledad Oppen-Cojuangco are among those appearing in this year’s billionaires rankings. Notably absent is William Belo, who dropped from 15th place last year with a net worth of $1.3 billion to $895 million this year. Inigo Zobel also fell to 21st place, now with a net worth of $845 million.
