Galaxy A23

Released last March here in the Philippines, Galaxy A23 is part of the latest A series mobile phones of Samsung. Set to capture the younger market focusing more on the design and its camera capabilities, and priced between the low to mid-range segment.

Here are some of the things that I like about the Samsung Galaxy A23 that mid-range buyers should take notice of.

DESIGN

The Galaxy A23 has a 6.6″ Ambient Edge design that connects the camera with the body and screen seamlessly with simple but refined curves. On hand is their Awesome Peach variant that has a look and feel of the 50s and 60s Bakelite industrial design and artworks. The back is made of plastic which is probably why the whole unit is slimmer, symmetrical and fluid all over. The A23 has the usual TFT V-Cut display with a 90Hz refresh rate but it is however covered in glass reinforced with Gorilla Glass 5.

We could’ve wished for an AMOLED but that would probably bring the price of the unit up to mid-range. So instead, Samsung Galaxy A23 is giving us something else. READ MORE >>>>

CAMERA

Your A23 camera is a 50MP Quad Camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which offers all the things you need for awesome mobile photography like Depth, Macro, Utlrawide plus an 8MP Selfie. The camera has always been Samsung’s best feature, the A23 provides budding creators with that experience.

Played with the camera using all the lenses and found depth exceptional – just don’t put your subject in between so many layers. Captures moving objects with ease. Ultrawide is also a favorite. Nothing exceptional with the macro and selfie. Video recording is at 1080P at 30fps. Check out these photos >>>>

GARDEN LIFE

BATTERY

Galaxy A23 is a decent budget solution with a huge 5,000mAh battery that is 25W fast charging capable. This can give you enough juice to last you up to two days. However, the package contains only the standard 15W charger and USB Type-C cable.

PERFORMANCE

The Galaxy A23 combines Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nm) Octa-core processing power with up to 6GB of RAM for fast and efficient performance for regular multi-tasking requirements and 128GB of internal storage that you can upgrade to 1TB using a MicroSD card. GPU is Adreno 610. Well it’s not a PRO gaming phone but you can play, create and do almost anything with it because that 6GB RAM is more than enough for average to heavy users.

OTHER FEATURES

Samsung Galaxy A23 is currently priced at 13,990 Pesos and gives you added features like Dolby Atmos audio and a side-mounted Fingerprint Scanner. The A23 is also available in Black, White and Blue colorways.
