Tokyo Syoki Shodo Drops Major Debut and MV for “Sayonara Rendezvouz”

With a track record of performing at major music festivals both in Japan and overseas — including SXSW 2024 and FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ‘24, the four-member girls’ punk band Tokyo Syoki Shodo made their major label debut with the album “Tokyo Syoki Shodo” from King Records, Japan on September 24. The music video for the leading song “Sayonara Rendezvous” is also available on YouTube.

The video visualizes the bittersweet memories of love and the sorrow that comes with its end. Set in a world where fantasy and reality blur together, the band members act as “narrators,” expressing the lingering traces of love and the fleeting nature of time.

The main performance scenes were shot in a dramatic space where light and shadow intertwine. A projector in the background continuously displays imagery of past memories and recollections. Within this dreamlike world, where the remnants of lost love and the poignancy of passing time are abstractly visualized, Sheena’s vocals deeply question the viewer: “What do memories and moments with a loved one truly mean?”

On Sunday, October 5, Tokyo Syoki Shodo will hold their first live show since the album release at Tokyo Kinema Club. With their major debut now official, anticipation continues to build for what lies ahead for Tokyo Syoki Shodo.
