The Philippine business landscape is at a critical turning point. With a global ranking of 61st out of 67 economies in the 2024 World Digital Competitiveness Ranking, the country faces a significant challenge: closing the digital divide. It’s no longer just a gap between nationsโit’s a divide between businesses on the same street, with some thriving through e-commerce and cloud solutions while others remain tethered to traditional, paper-based operations.
But according to the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the country’s largest business organization, the future is now, and the solution is clear: digital transformation.
A Strategic Push for Digitalization
The PCCI has kicked off the 51st Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E), a premier annual event designed to be a catalyst for change. Scheduled for October 20-21, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, this year’s theme, “The Future is Now: Unleash the Power of Digital Transformation,” is a call to action.
โDigital transformation is no longer optionalโit is the key to our nationโs progress,โ said Dennis Anthony H. Uy, the 51st PBC&E Chairman. This sentiment was echoed by PCCI President Enunina V. Mangio, who emphasized the urgent need to “act boldly and strategically to harness the full potential of digital technology and innovation.”
The conference aims to be more than just a forum for discussion. This year, it’s being reimagined as a comprehensive, hands-on technology showcase to equip businesses with the tools and insights needed to navigate the digital age.
The 51st PBC&E Media Launch was attended by DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque, DICT Secretary Henry Henry Rhoel Aguda, DICT Assistant Secretary Luis Miguel B. Planas, PCCI Chairman George T. Barcelon, Vice President for Industry Michael G. Tan, Chairman of the 51st PBC&E Tech Expo Ferdinand Ferrer, 51st PBC&E Co-Chairman Arturo C. Guerrero, Chairman of the 51st PBC&E Publicity and Promotion Committee Joel Ryan E. Tugade, PCCI Secretary-General Ruben J. Pascual, and PCCI media partners and sponsors.

Beyond the Conference Room: A Tech Showcase for All
For the first time, the 51st PBC&E will feature a Tech Showcase open to the public. Attendees will get to see, touch, and experience the technologies shaping our future, from artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity to the Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics.
Leading global and local tech companies, including Huawei, Google, Microsoft, and Converge, will demonstrate how their solutions can boost efficiency, enhance infrastructure, and strengthen digital security. This isn’t just an exhibitโit’s an invitation for everyone to participate in the country’s digital journey.
In a move to foster homegrown talent, the conference will also host the National Hackathon Championship, bringing together regional champions from across the Philippines. Participants will compete to develop AI-driven solutions for real-world business challenges, with winners receiving mentorship, cash prizes, and the chance to have their innovations deployed.
Bridging the Gap, One Business at a Time
With a goal of attracting over 50,000 participants, the PBC&E is focused on helping Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and other sectors close the digital gap. Policy discussions will feature key government leaders, including President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who will explore topics like MSME financing for digital adoption, AI’s impact on labor, and expanding nationwide broadband. The support from international embassies highlights the global importance of this collaboration.
By integrating policy forums, tech exhibitions, business matching, and innovation competitions under one roof, the 51st PBC&E is set to be a launchpad for ideas, partnerships, and innovations that will bring every Filipino business into the digital age.
If youโre ready to learn how to future-proof your business, the time to act is now.
