I recently attended a key event hosted by Canon Marketing Philippines at Marco Polo Ortigas. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the message clear: Canon is unwavering in its commitment to simplifying student life through reliable, budget-friendly printing solutions that genuinely foster productivity. What unfolded was an insightful demonstration of how their MegaTank and PIXMA printers are poised to transform the academic landscape, offering not just convenience but also an impressively low cost per print and remarkably easy maintenance.
Printing Smarter: The Canon Advantage for Students
Canon’s “Print Your Way to A+” campaign and their ongoing Campus Tour 2025 are more than just initiatives; they represent a strategic commitment to empowering students. I learned how Canon has introduced significant ink price reductions and an expanded rewards program, directly translating to tangible savings for students. It was particularly impressive to see how Canon Rewards points can now be redeemed as Giftaway e-gift certificates at over 400 merchants nationwide. This adds incredible value, extending far beyond typical printing supplies. During the event, Canon executives showcased the seamless functionality of the Canon App, allowing students to effortlessly track points and apply them towards everyday expenses – a true game-changer for managing student budgets.
The highlight for me, and for many of the student leaders present, was the hands-on demonstration of the Canon PIXMA and MAXIFY MegaTank printers. It was a tangible experience of their capabilities, revealing features perfectly suited for academic demands:

- Wireless connectivity meant printing from anywhere was a breeze.
- Two-sided printing promised significant paper savings, a welcome eco-friendly and cost-saving feature.
- Compact designs made it clear these printers would fit comfortably even in the most limited dorm or study spaces.
The MAXIFY MegaTank printers truly stood out with their high-yield ink systems, capable of producing an astounding 21,000 color pages or 9,000 black pages in economy mode. This translates to less frequent ink purchases and uninterrupted productivity, a student’s dream.
Anuj Aggarwal, CEO & President of Canon Marketing Philippines, articulated the company’s vision perfectly, stating, “We recognize that students face increasing academic demands while managing limited resources. Through this back-to-school campaign, we engage directly with students and show them how our printers are made to meet their evolving needs—from document printing to creative projects.” This resonated deeply, highlighting Canon’s dedication to understanding and meeting student needs head-on.
To further bolster accessibility, Canon unveiled its Ink Bundle Promo: select PIXMA MegaTank printers (G2730, G3730, G4770, G3780, and G4780) will come with one free set of GI-71s inks until September 30, 2025. This, coupled with reduced ink bottle prices, truly makes printing more affordable and encourages students to utilize their printers to their fullest potential.

Beyond Printing: Supporting Student Well-being
What truly set this event apart was Canon’s holistic approach to student support. We had the privilege of hearing from registered psychologist Riyan Portuguez, widely known as “Your Millennial Psychologist.” Her insights on the importance of mental wellness in academic success reinforced Canon’s broader mission. It was a powerful reminder that achieving academic goals isn’t just about having the right tools, but also about fostering the mental resilience necessary to navigate the pressures of student life. This commitment to overall student well-being truly impressed me.
