The exciting collaboration was officially unveiled at Novotel Manila Araneta City, where the show’s charming host, Valerie Tan, and HKTB Regional Director Liew Chian Jia shared a sneak peek into the season’s international adventures.
From Award-Winning Status to Hong Kong’s “Most Magical Party”
Fresh off its well-deserved win as Best Lifestyle and Travel Show at the 38th PMPC Star Awards for Television, ‘I Heart PH’ is making history once again. The show is the first Philippine TV program to shine a spotlight on Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th Anniversary celebration, aptly dubbed “The Most Magical Party of All.”
HKTB Regional Director Liew Chian Jia expressed immense enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “This collaboration presents a unique opportunity to highlight Hong Kong’s rich culinary, cultural, and entertainment offerings to Filipino audiences.” He also emphasized the significance of ‘I Heart PH’ being the first local show to offer a glimpse into this landmark celebration at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Valerie’s Hong Kong Adventures: From Bun Scrambling to Panda Cuddles!
Valerie Tan’s Hong Kong escapades are nothing short of thrilling! Viewers can expect to see her conquer a 14-meter tall tower used in the annual Bun Scrambling Competition during the Cheung Chau Bun Festival – a truly unique cultural experience! She even delved into the festival’s traditional Piu Sik parade, witnessing children adorned in elaborate costumes carried on steel frames.
And of course, no Hong Kong trip is complete without indulging in its famed culinary scene. Valerie savored exclusive dishes at the original Tim Ho Wan, including their iconic baked barbecue pork buns, Roselle-infused crispy red rice rolls, and Almond Milk Tea – the latter two being Hong Kong exclusives! Her taste buds also delighted in flaky, buttery egg tarts and authentic Hong Kong-style waffles from the bustling Temple Street Night Market.
But perhaps one of the most heartwarming moments for Valerie was her encounter with the Giant Panda twin cubs at Ocean Park Hong Kong. “They were just lounging around and munching and adorable!” she gushed, eagerly expressing her hope to return for their first birthday. Beyond the city’s lively streets, Valerie also explored the serene Tai O Fishing Village and Saikung’s stunning volcanic rock sites, revealing Hong Kong’s lesser-known natural beauty.
Hong Kong: A Go-To Destination for Filipino Travelers
The HKTB is clearly eager to welcome more visitors, particularly Filipinos, to discover Hong Kong’s vibrant blend of nature, culture, and flavors. Liew highlighted a significant milestone: 1.2 million Filipino arrivals in Hong Kong last year, surpassing previous records. “As we move forward, we remain dedicated to enriching the travel experience, offering world-class events and seasonal celebrations that bring Hong Kong even closer to the hearts of Filipino travelers,” he added.

Reflecting on the show’s incredible journey, Valerie shared, “We launched pre-pandemic, and never expected to make it to ten seasons. Now, it’s validation of our hard work and a sign that viewers continue to connect with our stories.” She emphasized that ‘I Heart PH’ stands out in the digital age due to its team’s in-depth research, long-form storytelling, and commitment to substance.
