G-SHOCK is celebrating its 40th anniversary and has announced its latest collaboration with popular US-based music company 88rising featuring Ylona Garcia.
The collaboration brings the Rooted in Toughness pop-up tour to the country, held at the BGC Amphitheater from October 13 to October 21, 2023 with a special performance by 88rising artist Ylona Garcia last October 14 featuring her hit songs “Entertain Me,” and “Vibin.”
The pop-up has on full display the G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary line-up, including the Clear Remix series, Remaster Black series, Recrystallized series, Adventurer’s Stone series, Flare Red series and G-SHOCK x Eric Haze collaboration watch.
Rooted in the spirit of Toughness that G-SHOCK has become synonymous with, the pop-up event will transport visitors through an immersive journey into the evolution of toughness starting from the birth of the pioneering G-SHOCK DW-5600C in 1983—which marked a milestone in digital watch technology—to its current iconic status as a symbol of both durability and innovation (GA-2100).
Fans can also take a closer look at the special G-SHOCK collection featuring 88rising artists! The music label is known for housing a diverse group of musicians from across the globe, such as Rich Brian, Dumbfoundead, Stephanie Poetri, Niki, Atarashii Gakko!, Warren Hue, Spence Lee, Milli, and the Philippines’ very own Ylona Garcia.
Portraits of these 88rising artists displayed in the event encapsulate the synergy between the musicians’ roots of origin and representation of modern toughness, embodying the essence of G-SHOCK’s legacy.
Limited edition G-SHOCK x 88rising t-shirts are available at the exhibition. The collaboration also saw G-SHOCK break the record for the number of 88rising artists featured in a brand campaign. Get the latest on G-SHOCK and the collaboration with 88rising by visiting their social media accounts.
