Dark Roast Coffeehouse has just celebrated its first anniversary, marking a successful year of serving fine coffee and fostering community in the competitive Maginhawa area.
Since opening its doors, Dark Roast Coffeehouse has become a favorite gathering place for students, a venue for independent musicians, and a meeting point for press, bloggers, and various personalities. It has distinguished itself through its commitment to quality coffee, cozy atmosphere, and fostering a sense of community.
“This past year has been an incredible journey,” said John. “Seeing Dark Roast become a second home for students, artists, and neighbors in Maginhawa is more than we ever dreamed of. We wanted to build something real, and the community response has been overwhelming.”
Krista added, “We started with a passion for bold coffee and a desire to build connection. Reaching our first anniversary proves that people crave authenticity, community, and yes, seriously good dark roast! We’re just getting started.”
On the eve of their anniversary celebration, Dark Roast Coffeehouse invited bloggers and coffee lovers to enjoy a tasting flight of their latest coffee and bread creations, including the new Dark Roast Latte, Oreo Croissant, and Black Sesame Croissant.
MIDNIGHT MOCHA
Sip carefully—this midnight bites back. Dark. Smooth. Unapologetically bold. This pitch-black potion blends rich cocoa, a double shot of espresso, and a splash of secret potion for that smoky-smooth hit. Topped with a cloud of cream for a finish that’s as soft as the silence after midnight.
Dark Roast x Butterboy – A meeting of bold flavor and buttery perfection
DRCH teamed up with Butterboy to bring you an exclusive collection of croissants crafted for true pastry lovers — rich, dark, flaky, and unforgettable. Think bold flavors, luxurious fillings, and the kind of craftsmanship you can taste in every bite.
Black Sesame Croissant
It’s bold. It’s Bougie. It’s a dark twist on a classic. Crafted with rich flaky dough and filled with a smooth, nutty black sesame cream. Deep, toasty flavors wrapped in delicate, buttery layers. A bold, luxurious pastry for those who savor the extraordinary.
Oreo Croissant
It’s an Oreo. It’s a croissant. It’s everything you didn’t know you needed. Flaky, buttery layers packed with creamy Oreo filling. Decadent, dreamy, and dangerously irresistible. Warning: self-control is not invited.
“We’re immensely grateful to everyone who’s walked through our doors and supported us,” expressed Eli. “This celebration isn’t just about us reaching a milestone; it’s about the vibrant community that makes Dark Roast special. Get ready for Darker, Bolder, Better things ahead!”
The Dark Roast Coffee House team led by owners Krista, Jianne, Eli, and John, extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of their successful first year.
Jianne remarked, “From launching unique brews and pastries to hosting talented indie musicians, year one laid the foundation. We’re excited to unveil what’s next tonight and continue brewing joy together with our amazing patrons.”
