What I Like About the realme Buds Q

Launched last September 30 in the Philippines together with the 7 Series phones is the realme Buds Q in-ear TWS (True Wireless Stereo) earphones – the latest AIoT device from the one of the fastest growing tech brand in the country.

With an SRP of only 1,490 Pesos, the realme Buds Q is simply one of the best buys of the season, and here are some of the main reasons why it is what it is.

Let’s get the biases in early, I am the kind of person who’s got a soundtrack for everything I do. I live and breathe music, day-in and day-out. I got music when I work and even when I am on my bike. So basically this piece of technology will be judged more for the quality of sound that it produces and the over-all experience.

While price is a primary consideration, I think how it makes you feel is what’s really important.

PERFORMANCE

I am on my bike, 2 to 3 hours and 3 to 4 times every week – it’s going to be a very boring ride without music. The realme Buds Q is keeping me company for almost three weeks now and it has never left my ear not even once during the ride.

Here are some of the features that I liked:

The realme Buds Q weighs only 3.6g which is lighter than a sheet of A4 paper. You put it in the ear and you forget it’s even there. It’s that comfortable to use. Plus the package comes with three different sizes of eartips to fit inside whatever type of holes you got.
The realme Buds Q is IPX4 water resistant! This means you can use it in various sports activities and it will survive. I sweat a lot when I bike and just recently I wore the Buds Q while riding my bike during a heavy downpour. No problem there!

The realme Buds Q promises non-stop music listening for 4 1/2 hours with a single charge. I only use one side (left or right) of earphones when I am on my bike for safety reasons. With my previous in-ear TWS I used to stop and switch earphones after more than an hour of use. I didn’t have this problem using the Buds Q.
The realme Buds Q features a 10mm large dynamic bass-boost driver optimized with a premium PEEK&PU special polymer composite diaphragm. The bass is made more powerful and deep, giving the same experience one can get in a live concert especially when you use both earbuds. Sound quality is definitely more than what you’d expect from earphones with same price range.
The realme Buds Q smartphone integration via Bluetooth 5.0 is almost instantaneous. Once paired, just open the Bluetooth from your smartphone, remove the buds from its charging case and you’re ready to go.

The realme Buds Q Intelligent Touch Controls also allows users to Play/Pause or Answer Calls (Double Tap), End Calls or Stop Music (Press 1 Side and Hold for 2sec), Move to the Next Music Track (Triple Tap). To enter Game Mode, just Touch and Hold for 2sec both earbuds.
The realme Buds Q Game Mode is highlighted by the device’s Super Low Latency of 199ms made possible by its R1Q Chip which supports dual-channel real-time transmission allowing the two buds to stay connected to the phone independently.
The realme Buds Q also boast of its Passive Noise Cancellation which allows you to concentrate more on the music or the game and none of the sound outside. Be sure to use both earbuds with caution – cause you’d probably hear nothing and won’t be able to know that’s happening around you.

DESIGN

The earphone and its shell are both designed by Hermes designer José Lévy who worked with the realme design team to fine-tune the G3 curve to give the Buds Q its simplestic cobblestone-like features. It’s light, smooth and easy to carry at only 35.4g including the earbuds.

The earbuds is also a masterpiece with its beak-like extended ergonomic shape that not only fits easy on your ear but looks pretty stylish too, just like its case.
