Multi-talented Kapuso artist GLAIZA DE CASTRO takes a break from acting to concentrate on her music and comes out with an 8-track CD called MAGANDANG SIMULAIN under PolyEast Records.

Two years after her certified Gold and edgy self-produced album Synthesis, the recently released Magandang Simulain contains four originals and four covers of her choosing.

Glaiza will take us back to good ol’ 70s folk, rock and country and manila sound with covers from Asin (Itanong Mo Sa Mga Bata), Juan Dela Cruz (Ang Himig Natin) and Cinderella (Bato Sa Buhangin). She also provides us a new perspective on the 90’s hit “Dukha” from the band Aegis.

SINTA, the album’s carrier single is an original song that she co-wrote with actress-friend Angelica Panganiban. The three other originals in the album are London, Magandang Simulain and Ganti.

Here are the tracks:

  1. Ganti
  2. Itanong Mo Sa Mga Bata
  3. Dukha
  4. London
  5. Bato Sa Buhangin
  6. Sinta
  7. Ang Himig Natin
  8. Magandang Simulain

During a special media event and mini concert held at Dong Juan Restaurant in Quezon City, Glaiza also announced that she will be having a concert at the Music Museum on the 27th of October.

Dubbed as KunGdiman, the concert is co-produced by PolyEast Records and Glaiza herself. The repertoire will take the audience a trip down memory lane to the 70’s with confirmed guests Mike Hanapol, rapper Gloc 9 and a few other surprise performers.

Glaiza said that while the concert has an over-all feel of classic folk, rock and country the performances are not limited to the era. She will be singing a few of her originals from the previous albums and a couple of other covers.
