WOKE UP LIKE THIS is the reunion comedy film of actors Vhong Navarro, Lovi Poe and Regal Entertainment who first paired in an episode of Shake, Rattle & Roll XVI in 2012.

The film revolves around the story of local basketball king Lando (Vhong Navarro) and ramp queen Sabrina (Lovi Poe) who woke up one morning trapped in each other’s body. The mysterious switch is the subject of the film’s endless comic situations.

Script Writers Joma Labayen and Jeps Gallon, in a recently held blog conference, admitted that the concept of the film is not entirely original but it is however a fresh take on the subject which showcases the comedic prowess of both Vhong and Lovi.

“A good laugh is what the movie is all about,” the two shared.

WOKE UP LIKE THIS is also Lovi Poe’s first comedy role in a film. Which makes it even more worth watching.

The movie, which is scheduled for release nationwide on the 23rd of August, is also the reunion film of Vhong Navarro and fellow comedian Bayani Agbayani who last paired in the Star Cinema produced film Otso-Otso Pamela One.

When asked who is the better comedian during the blogcon, Bayani quickly answered, “Vhong” – but the two however agreed that the stuff that makes a good comedic talent is his or her passion for the craft – a commitment to a never ending learning process and the honesty and authenticity of every line that is delivered.

“Lahat dapat ng sasabihin mo ay manggagaling sa iyong puso,” Bayani said during the open forum.

Also present during the blog conference were Ynna Asistio and Dionne Monsanto.

Other cast includes Joey Marquez, Cora Waddell and Raikko Mateo.

WOKE UP LIKE THIS was created under the helm of Direk Joel Ferrer, the person behind the film projects Hello World (2013), Blue Bustamante (2013) and Baka Siguro Yata (2015). Aside from films, Direk Joel also handles several projects for D5Studio like Forever Sucks (Jasmine Curtis), Sabagay Life (Joyce Pring), Jinrilationships (Jinri Park) and Office Dramalala.
