There are events that happen only once in our lives! Milestone occasions that will never ever happen again, events that sticks to you – and the memories of all who are part of it – for the rest of your life.

These are birthdays, weddings, a school prom, your company’s brand launch, your daughter’s debut party, an anniversary, a family reunion or any other occasion that deserves a celebration – grand or simple, but one that has to be truly memorable.

If it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, wouldn’t you want it to be a perfect one? Or at least an event that will be remembered by people and loved ones as something not short of wonderful?

You also wouldn’t want your perfect moment to be ruined by let’s say, your caterer, for example.

Something that really happened to us during our wedding reception. We actually starved our guests because food were served more than an hour late that our hosts almost ran out of stalling tactics. And then the food are less than satisfactory, like it was rushed. A real disaster.

We vowed to never go back and celebrate occasions in that hotel ever again. I will just not mention names since that was years ago, they might have improved their service already – I wouldn’t really know.

Anyway, that event served as an eye-opener for us. If you have something that’s really very important, you should only share it with someone that’s really trust-worthy.

Hizon’s Catering

Hizon’s Catering is an off-premise caterer specializing in corporate events, weddings, and private parties. Established in 1987, they are one of the top catering groups here in the Philippines. They have already catered to as many as 15,000 guests but they can also handle intimate events for 50 persons as well.

“We are not the cheapest but you get a lot for what you pay for, that’s what we’re known for, what we give you is of good value,” shares Joseph Hizon during its Quadruple Bash held exclusively for bloggers at the Oasis Manila last week.

The event showcased the versatility of Hizon’s Catering featuring all four types of events inside the Pavilion of Oasis Manila.


At one corner is the wedding reception set-up complete with an elegantly designed Presidential or VIP Table, the couple’s sofa, a buffet area and a wedding ceremony complete with a wedding cake, wedding singers, host and the traditional bouquet toss activity.

What’s On The Menu:

  • Truffle Mushroom Soup
  • Peach Mango Salad with Candied Walnut and Smoked Salmon
  • Baked Fish Stuffed with Spinach and Tomato
  • Beef Salpicao with Grilled Vegetables and Mashed Potato
  • Chicken Sambal
  • Slow Roasted Beef with Hickory BBQ Sauce and Classic Mushroom Gravy
  • Thrice-Cooked Pork Belly with Cilantro Salsa


Another corner showcases a circus-themed children’s birthday party complete with party favors and a wonderful kid-friendly menu.

What’s On The Menu:

  • Bacon-wrapped Cocktail Hotdog with Sweet BBQ Sauce
  • Fries with Thousand Island Dressing
  • Mini Pizza
  • Nachos
  • Red Velvet Cupcake
  • Juice Bar: Lychee, Cucumber, Blue Lemonade


On the other side is the “Awards Night” section that depicts an all glam corporate or media event where hor d’oeuvres were passed around by waiters and a dessert spread was laid out to the attendees.

What’s On The Menu:

  • Tempura Roll
  • Argentinian Steak Canape
  • Candied Bacon Canape
  • Tomato and Basil Confit in Skewers
  • Crispy Beef Ssam Fresh Spring Roll
  • Smoked Salmon Caviar Creme Pop
  • Desserts: Vanilla Creme Brule, Sunken Island, Peach Egg Tart, Flourless Chocolate Cake, Mango Vanilla Pana Cotta


Lastly, at the corner near the stage is a seminar type of set-up where they serve coffee and tea, bread (baguette/focaccia) and a cooking station for your “make-your-own” omelette with the following filling choices: mushroom, ham, cheese, tomato, onion, bell pepper, bacon, shrimp, olive, chicken pesto and spinach.

Menu packages starts at 450 Pesos per person.


All the dishes were whipped up by the Hizon’s Catering kitchen team headed by chef Simon Dayrit. Event styling was done by Drew Menor. They also have a team of event planners headed by Cheska Pineda and an event planner is usually assigned to every client to coordinate all the details.

“We take care of everything. Aside from the usual food, tables, chairs and waiter service, we can also handle the amenities. These are small things that you don’t want to bother with like the bridal car. If you’re looking for a hotel in the area, we can put that in the package too,” Joseph said.

The Quadruple Bash provided a glimpse of how Hizon’s Catering can make your dream event happen. And now I wished I’ve known of Hizon’s Catering back then when we were planning for our wedding.
