2017 is going to be an auspicious year for those born in the Year of the Rooster, but for actor KEN CHAN, his luck started to make a really big turn for the best last year when he got the lead role in the critically-acclaimed GMA TV Series Destiny Rose.
Filipino-Chinese actor Ken Chan, now 24 years old, recently visited Childhope Asia Philippines Foundation in Paco, Manila for a surprised outreach birthday celebration with the streetkids beneficiaries of the organization.
During the event, Ken reveals that it was his long-time wish to celebrate a birthday with orphans and street children. He reminisce his childhood days playing in the neighborhood and finding true friendship and companionship with a couple of homeless children or street kids that are in their community.
GMA Artist Center took note of that wish and surprised Ken last week with an outreach birthday party at the Childhope Asia Philippines Center in Paco.
Here are some clips of Ken Chan’s birthday event at Childhope Philippines:
Ken said that the Year of the Fire Rooster will bring him a very good year since he is born under the same sign. Getting the role of Yuan Lee in the fast-rising TV series Meant To Be with Barbie Forteza is already a clear indication of that. However, he mentioned that his birthday experience at Childhope Asia Philippines already showed him how lucky he was compared to other people.
Ken also gave the street kids three practical advise on how to be successful in life no matter what their circumstances are:
- Study hard, education is the key to getting what they want in life.
- Pray hard, God’s strength will sustain us all.
- Follow your elders or heed the advise of parents or those that have more experienced than them.
The street kids offered Ken a song number while the representatives and social workers of Childhope Asia Philippines awarded Ken Chan and GMA Artist Center a certificate as a sign of their gratitude for their support.
Hosted by Tess Bomb, who is also part of the TV series Meant To Be, the outreach event became a venue for the kids to play, mingle and have snacks together with their Kuya Ken Chan. Also present during the event is Ken’s good friend and co-star in Meant To Be – Addy Raj.
More luck is rolling out for this exceptional actor who was able to immediately break free from his previous role as a Transgender Woman in Destiny Rose to become a “Suplado” hunk in Meant To Be.
He’s done acting, singing (a recording artist), performing at his first major concert (at the Music Museum), and now he’s gonna do some TV show hosting as he and Janine Gutierrez heads the newly reformatted DAY-OFF beginning this February.
Truly, I see bigger things happening for Ken Chan in the Year of the Fire Rooster!
Ken Chan’s birthday event is also supported by Afficionado, Goldilocks, Active White and Omizu.
