Despite a calendar full of commitments, JESSA ZARAGOZA still finds time to pause, reflect and count the many blessings she reaped this year.

As a thanksgiving treat, Jessa together with her husband and musical Icon DINGDONG AVANZADO, invited me and other friends from the media and the online community for a delicious lunch and casual chat last Friday at the Dayrit’s Burgers and Roastbeef joint in Tomas Morato.

The last time I was able to talk with the Phenomenal Diva was in July during the media launch of her new album PAG WALA NA ANG ULAN under GMA Records.  The title track Pag Wala Na Ang Ulan and her follow-up single Nasaan has made it to the 95.5 Pinoy Hits Countdown #1 since its release, while her newest cut Buti Na Lang was chosen by GMA TV as the theme song of their latest Koreanovela, PRINCESS MAN which aired first in Philippine TV last November 19.

Her husband, Dingdong who’s under a different label (Viva) was very vocal in his admiration for the concept and the packaging of Jessa’s new musical project with GMA Records and said that it was a very beautiful album.

Jessa stands out as one of the few rare talents who have successfully crossed over from a flourishing singing career to a bigger challenge as a dramatic actress.  But her heart was into acting first before singing and she has definitely acquired the skill to balance both successfully.

Jessa truly has a lot of things to be thankful for this year.  Aside from the album, she kicked-off the year with a GMA Fantasy Series in KOKAK, followed by other GMA shows including the Bea Binene and Jake Vargas starrer CIELO DE ANGELINA where she plays the role of a politician for the first time and the Sunday primetime comedy show PEPITO MANALOTO alongside veteran comedians Michael V, Nova Villa and Manilyn Reynes.

She was also tapped to be the celebrity endorser of Fortune Life Insurance where she also sings the TV ad theme song Pangako composed by Jimmy Antiporda.

The Phenomenal Diva was also busy going in and out of the country for her sold-out shows in New Jersey, Australia, Italy, UK and Indonesia.  In fact, she’ll be going out of the country again for a show in Dubai this coming November 30.  There’s really no stopping Jessa Zaragoza this 2012.

That’s why it is not really surprising to hear the announcement of her mentor and friend, Kuya German Moreno that Jessa will soon receive her very own star at the Eastwood City’s renowned Walk of Fame.   This December, Jessa will join the ranks of the country’s illustrious stars who’s names have been immortalized in the famous Eastwood marker.

However, showbiz commitments aside, nothing gives Jessa as much fulfillment than playing her role as wife to Dingdong Avanzado, who recently celebrated his 25th Anniversary in Showbiz, and as  mom to nine-year old daughter Jayda, who inherited her parents’ gift of song, and is bound to carve her own niche soon.

It was a very nice lunch date with Jessa and Dingdong.  The two truly makes a perfect couple.  Both talented and very much committed to their craft.  Congratulations to both of you!

Jessa Zaragoza is being managed by ALV Talent Circuit.
