UnionPay, one of the fastest-growing global payment network announced yesterday its partnership with the Philippine Basketball Association, the 2nd oldest pro basketball league in the world.

The announcement was made in a special press briefing held at the Media Room of The Araneta Coliseum last with UnionPay International Southeast Asia Deputy General Manager Vincent Ling and PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial.

The PBA partnership is our first major sponsorship in the country, and also our first basketball sponsorship globally,” said Vincent Ling during the media briefing. “Our strategy is to always serve and connect on a deeper level with our consumers and local communities. With the PBA partnership, we hope to bring heightened excitement surrounding the games to fans and UnionPay Cardholders.”

PBA match spectators can look forward to exciting on-court game “UnionPay – Shoot Your Way” organized by UnionPay to win exclusive PBA merchandises and more.

Shoppers visiting Gateway Mall located just beside Araneta Coliseum on July 10 and 11 can also experience the UnionPay MVP Shootout game at the mall’s atrium to win attractive prizes and apply for UnionPay cards.

As the Official Payment Partner, UnionPay will also be offering exclusive privileges to its customers. Any amount spent between July 10 and  August 31 2019 with UnionPay Cards issued locally can win “Money Can’t Buy” exclusive PBA merchandises, including PBA jerseys, shirts and Molten basketballs endorsed by popular PBA players.
