Brother of the Year and Crown Princess star Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund is here now in Manila to tell Filipino fans to come and visit her home land Amazing Thailand.
Yaya is one of the most popular names in Thailand’s entertainment scene and also one of the ambassadors of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
During press conference held yesterday at Dusit Thani Manila earlier, Yaya together with TAT Director for Singapore and Philippines Kajorndet Apichartrakul talked about what makes Thailand stand out from the other Southeast Asian destinations.
Thailand is a country known for its culture, flavors, and warm and kind people. For years now, the country has elevated its love for these traits as it embraces and welcomes all visitors – regardless of identity, age, color, and who they love, which led to the “Land of Smiles” being recognized all over as a safe haven for members of the LGBTQ community.
“In Thailand, we believe that diversity is amazing. It’s one of the traits that make the world colorful and full of love – and this is something that we try to show our visitors. We want them to feel welcomed, loved, and given the freedom to experience the best of what our country has to offer,” said Mr. Kajorndet Apichartrakul in an interview.
A country that embraces diversity, Thailand also made strides as an ideal destination for its visitors beyond its natural beauty, culture and cuisine. TAT has cultivated experiences that highlights its rich culture, distinct flavors, unique local experiences, and luxurious recreational offerings to send a message that there is something in Thailand for every one.
As part of its initiatives here in the Philippines, TAT flew in Yaya Sperbund to help promote Amazing Thailand and its “Open To New Shades” campaign.
“The opportunity to represent and promote Thailand to millions of travelers from all over the world has truly been a surreal experience for me,” said Sperbund in an interview. “Spending the entirety of my life in Thailand and traveling around the country have given me so much experience and insights that I enthusiastically share with those I meet – especially with my fans. It has actually become second nature to me to share my love for it and encourage people to visit even before I became an ambassador for TAT.”
During her stay, Yaya will grace the runway to showcase the best of Thai fashion and culture – along with select local celebrities and models – in an exclusive gala event to be attended by dignitaries, media, trade partners, and LGBTQ advocates.
Fans of Yaya will also get a chance to meet and greet her during a mall show on Saturday (June 15) at the Ayala Mall Circuit in Makati City at 1pm.
This is Yaya Sperbund’s first visit to the Philippines and she will be here for only three (3) days. However, she has her eyes set on Cebu for her next visit.
