7 Things You Already Know About SHAZAM! So Why Read This?

Just say the word! SHAZAM! is about to take superhero movie fans in the Philippines by storm on April 3 with its cool brand of humor and action!

Last night was blast as we got to see the much-awaited DC movie on the SM IMAX screen ahead of regular screening schedule courtesy of SM Cinema.

This article will not spoil the movie for those who haven’t seen it yet but it will however tell you things you already know about the film (and story) that you are just too excited or nostalgic to admit for yourself.

I made a list:

For pete’s sake let’s all just call him CAPTAIN MARVEL! He’s the original “Captain Marvel” but because of legal trademark issues – we just can’t.. so the film assigns him different funny monikers and at the end of the movie you’d still don’t know what to call him.
Yes of course, you’ll see a lot of Justice League in this movie. From start to finish, you’ll get references to characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and a special end credit special jab for Aquaman.
You need to finish the movie up to the very end. There will be a mid-credit and end credit inserts.
You’ll fall in love with the songs “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen and “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor, all over again.
It’s a “FAMILY” movie! And that’s the biggest surprise this movie has in store for you!
If MCU’s Captain Marvel has a cat named Goose, DC’s Captain Marvel has a big one – a tiger named Mister Tawny. But the film version is far from the comic book version. You’ll find Mister Tawny all throughout the film, if you know where to look.
Ridiculous costumes, boring fight scenes BUT super funny! It’s a classic comic book character. Don’t take it too seriously.

Synopsis:

As Billy Batson lives what he thinks is a normal 14-year-old’s life, shouting out “Shazam!” changes all that as he turns into an adult Super Hero, Shazam. Given by an ancient Wizard, Billy tries to discover Shazam’s superhero abilities with the help of his foster brother, Freddy. Now that there is a great danger approaching them, Shazam has to master his abilities to fight evil brought by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

The film features Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Djimon Hounsou as the Wizard and Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.
