DRAGON LADY is going head-to-head today with ABS CBN’s It’s Showtime!
Replacing “Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko”, DRAGON LADY is GMA Network’s newest Fantasy-Drama series that will tell the story of Celestina Sanchez played by actress Janine Gutierrez and her journey to self-discovery.
Born with dragon-like features and mystical powers, Celestina will be caught in the middle of a dispute that has happened between her parents and a powerful clan of dragon worshippers.
A story set in a bustling Filipino-Chinese community enveloped in intrigue, revenge, betrayal and the belief in luck.
The pilot week will tell the story of Celestina’s mom Almira who will be played by Bea Binene. Also in the pilot week are Derrick Monasterio (Charles), Kristoffer Martin (Bryan), Leo Martinez (Wilson Lim), Isabelle De Leon (Vera), Denise Barbacena (Ginger), Mosang (Doray), Carlene Aguilar (Philippa) and Lorenz Martinez as a young Wilson Lim.
The story will progress to the birth of Celestina and until she becomes an adult.
Taking on the 2nd generation roles are:

Playing vital roles in the lives of Celestina is Michael Chan (Tom Rodriguez), Astrid Chua (Joyce Ching), Goldwyn Chen (Edgar Allan Guzman), Lotus (Julie Lee), and Rafael Rosell (Matthew Chan).
According to Ms. Hazel Abonita, the series’ Senior Program Manager, DRAGON LADY will offer afternoon TV fans a different brand of show. A fantasy-drama that has Disney-ish feel in it which aims to target even the younger audiences.
“It’s not a superhro series, walang ibang mundo na pupuntahan, walang superhero. It’s a drama story na pambata ang flavor- it’s not dark in terms of emotion.”
DRAGON LADY premieres airs Mondays to Saturdays beginning March 4 on GMA Afternoon Prime, right after Eat Bulaga.
