To better serve travelers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Smart Communications has deployed a convenient way for them to purchase Smart, Sun and TNT products and other goods and services, in collaboration with PayMaya.

Smart loading stations at NAIA are now equipped with One by PayMaya Business terminals, which allows customers to purchase Smart, Sun and TNT products, load cards and electronic airtime credits by swiping, dipping or tapping their Visa or Mastercard credit, debit or prepaid cards, or scanning the QR codes using their mobile payment apps.

“Bringing PayMaya solutions at NAIA is part of our efforts to use technology to make lives better. In this case, it’s to enable more Filipinos to stay connected by making mobile load purchases easier and hassle-free. At the same time, we also aim to make transactions for other products and services more convenient for the overseas workers and tourists arriving here in our country,” said Smart Consumer Business–Customer Development Head Alex O. Caeg.

The One by PayMaya Business solution includes an all-in-one terminal that allows merchants to accept various transaction modes, including cards- and mobile-based payments. PayMaya Business offers a suite of digital payment acceptance solutions, which allows businesses to accept payments from all credit, debit and prepaid cards anytime and anywhere.

Aside from paying using their cards, travelers can also pay via QR-based mobile payments such as PayMaya QR and WeChat Pay, if they have accounts with the said services.

The terminals facilitate quick payment transactions and are user-friendly because they look just like smartphones. The facility can also be connected via mobile data, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi, making it more convenient for business owners to place it anywhere within their establishments.

Select NAIA merchants also now have their own PayMaya QR codes, which customers can scan using their PayMaya app to make payments—these include National Bookstore, Bo’s Coffee, and McCafe, among many others.

These digital payment channels offered by Smart through PayMaya are ideal for travelers, especially incoming migrant Filipino workers and foreign travelers, who no longer need to bring cash or convert currencies to buy Smart,Sun and TNT products and services at the airport.

“We want consumers to stay connected and enjoy fast, secure andconvenient payment transactions for products and services at variousestablishments, or even if they’re just at home. Through our digital paymentsolutions, we hope the ‘cashless’ lifestyle will be adopted by more Filipinos,”said PayMaya Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director Paolo Azzola.
