GMA Afternoon Drama launched IKA-5 UTOS last Monday with an explosive pilot that started with a good old fashioned take on infidelity – a reminiscent of what its predecessor “IKA-6 NA UTOS” has offered audience during its 15-Month successful run.

Now being dubbed as the “Commandment” franchise, the 2nd installment will delve on issues linked to the 5th Commandment – “Thou Shall Not Kill” or “Huwag Kang Papatay” in Tagalog.

During a special advance screening of the pilot episode held at GMA Network 5 days before its scheduled airing, the cast unanimously shared that the new series will have a more complicated plot with lots of more intense scenes compared to “Ika-6 Na Utos”.

The series is directed by Laurice Guillen, the same director who brought us “Ika-6 Na Utos”.

Present during the pilot screening are the junior cast of the series – Klea Pineda (Candy), Jeric Gonzales (Brix), Migo Adecer (Francis), Jake Vargas (Carlo) and Inah de Belen (Joanna).

The cast who saw the pilot episode for the first time said that it has exceeded all their expectations. And while they are amazed and at the same time felt challenged with what the senior cast have offered its audience during the first episodes, they have assured everyone that the story of “Ika-5 Utos” is about to get even more interesting (and intense) in the coming weeks.

The pilot episodes introduced us to three families in conflict – “The Lorenzos” with Jean Garcia (Eloisa) and Neil Ryan Sese (Randy); “The Buenaventura” with Valerie Concepcion (Clarisse) and Tonton Gutierrez (Emil); and “The Manupils” with Gelli de Belen (Kelly) and Antonio Aquitania (Benjie).

It’s going to be a three-way battle from the start – let’s see how this story will end!

Catch IKA-5 UTOS weekdays after Eat Bulaga only on GMA Network.
