Many of us have dreamed of owning a piece of land in Tagaytay. Known as the second summer capital of the Philippines for its temperate climate, this town at the edge of Cavite, Laguna and Batangas is one of the most favorite tourist spot for both the locals and foreigners.

Aside from the cool weather, this southern destination also boast of a magnificent view of the town of Taal, its world famous lake and volcano.

While there have been a surge of real estate development and commercialization in some of the town’s most accessible areas, particularly those near the rotunda (Olivarez), a large part of Tagaytay remains to be untouched and left in its pristine condition.

And then there’s TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS, which is a cross between the two. A leisure development of the SM Group of Companies, it’s nestled in the highest elevations of Tagaytay and is an exclusive “members-only” premier destination divided into three zones – Highlands, Midlands and Greenlands – each speaks of exclusivity, luxury and the most relaxing and “untouched” nature views.

Two Thursdays ago, I was part of a small group of online media who got invited to get an exclusive tour inside this very private mountain resort and residential community.

For a whole day, we were able to see and experience some of the new things that this one-of-a-kind community is offering its members. It was a real privilege, because they don’t actually just let anybody in to this place – you either own a property or got endorsed (or invited) by a property owner to be able to enter and experience all of its world-class amenities and recreational facilities which includes Asia’s most exciting 18-hole and 27-hole Golf Courses.

Through the years, Tagaytay Highlands has constantly evolved. What started as a weekend getaway destination has fully transitioned into one of the country’s most luxurious mountain resort township that strives for dominance in the premier leisure market.

Our gracious hosts led by Belle Corp’s AVP for Marketing Mabe De Goitia and Tagaytay Highlands Marketing Communications Director Phillip Medina, toured us first to the different kinds of themed residential developments.

A Sumptuous Dinner at the Highlanders Steak House

This is probably the coolest spot to have a steak dinner. The Highlanders Steak House is designed to look like an old western log cabin restaurant and serves one of the best tenderloin steak I’ve ever tasted. The hillside view at the back of the restaurant is also magnificent.

There are so many things that this upscale mountain resort destination are offering its members and residents. But the most important is that owning a property (or a share) in Tagaytay Highlands is probably the best investment one could ever make today. In fact, most of the developments are already 100% sold out, even the condominium units. But don’t worry, they do have a couple of new projects out this year and still more coming up very soon.
