The Christmas season is always a very special time for Lancaster New City in Cavite.
People who knows me well know that I am generally not the holiday-type of person or someone who’s big on celebrations and parties, and that is why I am so dumbfounded at how Lancaster New City – both its residents and developers – is so invested in leveling-up the Filipino Christmas experience in their communities.
But first, let me tell you more about this place.
The community of Lancaster New City is a 1,600-hectare mixed-use development houses more than just a residential area, a mall, and a church. It also has a bustling IT park called the Suntech iPark in Downtown Lancaster.
The premier township project in Kawit, Imus, and General Trias Cavite provides the convenience of having its very own Transport Hub that gives residents easy access to buses and shuttles for an easy commute around the development.
Also conveniently located inside Lancaster New City is St. Edward Integrated School (SEIS), a private school for students from kindergarten to high school. There is also the Leighton Hall Clubhouse with its own outdoor pool and ballroom for various events.
Lancaster New City pride itself as a Family Friendly City and perhaps the claim is even more evident during the Christmas season.
The flagship project of property developer PRO-FRIENDS ushered in the “greatest time of year” last November 25 (Saturday), as Lancaster New City launched their grand Christmas programs with a stunning Christmas light show and a concert featuring the band Rocksteddy.
This tradition has started three years ago and I have been a witness as to how the Christmas programs at Lancaster has evolved year after year.
Santas Workshop Christmas Light Show
This year, and in celebration of Lancaster New City’s 10th year anniversary, the thriving Cavite township will showcase a grander Christmas Light Show in a new venue at the Central Greens which is located just beside The Square. Aside from last year’s stop-motion lights digitally dancing to various Christmas tunes, they have also added a captivating laser light show as a second set. The Christmas light show will be on every night until December 26.
Dekada Food Bazaar
To complement this dazzling display is the Dekada Food Bazaar which will be open on Wednesdays to Saturdays from 4 in the afternoon until 12 midnight.
On Dec. 9, there will be a grand reveal of the 20-foot family sculpture called “Perpetuity” created by award-winning Filipino artist Merlito Gepte. The artist is known for his classical realist style with a touch of contemporary inspiration. “Perpetuity” is the symbol for the happy, united, and active family that Lancaster New City is home to.
As part of this memorable 10th years anniversary program, families are then invited to come together at the Open Air Cinema in Central Greens for some fun Christmas-themed games and a free film showing of Star Cinema blockbusters “Love You to the Stars and Back” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
On December 16, Imago, Six Cycle Mind, Banda Ni Kleggy, Stellar, and Grace Note will be holding a special Christmas concert at The Square, Lancaster New City’s own commercial establishment located in Downtown Lancaster where the township’s busy business and retail district is found.
Lancaster New City will be concluding its month-long lineup of holiday events with its annual Simbang Gabi schedule at the uniquely-structured Parish of the Holy Family from December 16-24 at 4:00 in the morning, with anticipated masses on December 15-23, 7:00 p.m.
