WET CLEANING was introduced in the market in the 90s as an alternative to the dry cleaning method of cleaning clothes, said Electrolux Lagoon Specialist Mr. Kho Tjin Hok during a special media conference for the Lagoon Advance Care (LAC) system last Friday (November 24) at the Ballroom of Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Quezon City.

The Electrolux Professional Lagoon Advance Care system is more or less a perfected version of the Wet Cleaning process which is said to be delicate on almost all fabrics, gentle on the environment and a true game changer in the laundry business.

In fact, Novotel Manila is one of the first hotels in Manila to use and offer the Lagoon Advance Care (LAC) laundry system to its guests.

LAC is also the first wet cleaning system to have been endorsed by the Woolmark Company as suitable for the cleaning of delicate wool garments which used to be labeled for dry cleaning only.

But why choose Wet Cleaning over Dry Cleaning?

The answer can be sum up into one word – PERC or perchloroethylene, the chemical solvent used in dry cleaning which is highly toxic to people, animals and the environment.

Being a water-based cleaning system, LAC operates with the simplicity of solvent-based cleaning techniques but in an eco-friendly way. You can’t even compare it to a conventional washer or washing machine because it can handle delicate clothes with ease – if anything, it’s like you’re hand washing all your fabrics with less of the water, time, effort and energy.

Another awesome thing about the Lagoon Advance Care (LAC) system is the high tech dryer that operates not via timer but by the amount of moisture that are in the fabric. The machine can detect moisture in fabric and the drying stops when moisture is at almost 0%. No more hits and misses.

Also present during the conference were ELS Philippines Managing Director Joey Ermita and Mr. Luca Franchi.
