Wednesday started out pretty awesome because brunch was totally a magnificent experience with delicious J.CO donuts, J.Club sandwiches and their new Affogato Series!
J.CO Donuts and Coffee recently inaugurated its 44th store in the Philippines at the newly-built SM City East Ortigas located near the boundaries of Pasig and Cainta, Rizal. Formerly the place where the old Ever Gotesco Ortigas stood, it is accessible through various Ortigas-bound public utility vehicles coming to and from Rizal, Manila, San Juan, Makati, Mandaluyong and Quezon City.
Most passenger vehicles still calls the place as Ever, so don’t be confused. Bottomline is the old Ever is now SM City East Ortigas.
J.CO SM City East Ortigas
J.CO SM City East Ortigas is also the brand’s lifestyle cafe concept store boasting of natural-looking wood and brick fixtures, clean flat walls, metal accents and a lot of well-lighted Instagram-ready spaces.
Compared to the other branches, the new concept store is more cozy and inviting – a place for people who wants to dine in and hang out, and not just for people who goes in and fall in line to buy a box of J.CO donuts.
I love the donuts at J.CO and so I am very much familiar with almost all the varieties – my current favorite is the Red Velvet which is one of the three new flavors introduced by J.CO together with White Velvet and Cheezy Rich. I also love most of their frappes and lattes, specially the Green Tea Frappe, Oreo Cheesecake Frappe and Cappuccino Avocado Frappe.
However, I must admit that aside from the donuts and drinks, I am absolutely clueless about the other stuff in their menu.
So my visit at J.CO SM City East Ortigas last Wednesday was another day of firsts for me and my taste buds!
I ordered a J.Club Katsu Sandwich and it was served to me with a side of Kani Salad and potato chips plus a cup of iced tea.
Aside from Katsu, J.Club sandwiches also comes in Sausage and Salami.
Another thing that’s new about J.CO Donuts and Coffee is their Affogato Series – Iced Cafe Avocado Affogato, Iced JCOccino Affogato and Iced Chocolate Affogato.
What’s an Affogato?
Affogato which literally means “drowned” is an Italian coffee-based dessert. A traditional affogato is a scoop of ice cream drowned in a shot of piping hot espresso. It is then either consumed as a mildly cold beverage or eaten like an espresso soup.
Espresso + Gelato = Affogato
The innovative minds at J.CO Donuts and Coffee built on the Affogato concept and have come up with three different cooler variants to cater to three discerning tastes of their customers. Using beans sourced from the Sumatra and Sulawesi regions in Indonesia, each cup ensures quality, delicious flavor, and intense strength.
Iced Cafe Avocado Affogato
The rich and creamy flavors in the Avocado Affogato blend just as well as they rhyme! J.CO has blended the smooth and creamy taste of avocado with its premium coffee blend and topped it off with a scoop of luscious chocolate ice cream which all come together to form a harmonious combination of distinct flavors.
Iced JCOccino Affogato
A rich, buttery scoop of milk chocolate ice cream makes this crowd favorite extra creamy. Definitely a must-try for any coffee enthusiast looking to get a quick cooling caffeine fix.
Iced Chocolate Affogato
You can never have too much of a good thing. Case in point: the chocolatey goodness of the Iced Chocolate Affogato, which is a sweet serving of chocolate milk topped with a heaping scoop of chocolate ice cream. Definitely a chocolate lover’s dream realized and made available in a cup.
J.CO SM City East Ortigas also showed guests how to do Latte Art and make an Affogato.
While all the three J.CO Affogato variants have their own distinct flavors, each one of them is a winner in my book! If you’re into something a little strong, refreshing and bursting with sweet flavors – then the J.CO Affogato Series is the one for you!
The Affogato Series is available in all J.CO Donuts and Coffee branches nationwide.
My special thanks for the warm welcome from the entire J.CO Team during the launch 🙂
Try the new Affogato flavors from J.CO and don’t forget to FOLLOW THE RAIN or drop me a COMMENT here if you found this post very useful or have any questions. Love to hear from you soon. 🙂
