BLINK launches its Movie Weekend Festival at the SM Mall of Asia and SM North EDSA simultaneously from January 22 (Friday) to January 24 (Sunday).
The activity features three full days of FREE food, COOL photo booths, EXCITING raffles and UNLIMITED movie watching! I was at the SM Mall of Asia last Friday to check out the spacious BLINK sala at the Atrium complete with cozy bean bags, recliners and a huge TV screen.
People all over the country will be using the same adjectives in the coming days as BLINK will go around spreading the same awesome experience from North to South starting with Marikina and Dasmarinas on January 30 and 31, followed by Davao and Lanang on February 6 and 7, Cebu and Seaside City on February 13 and 14, Pampanga and Clark on February 20 and 21, Manila and Fairview on February 27 and 28, SM Megamall from March 4 to March 6 and Calamba on March 5 and 6.
BLINK, according to SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc. (SMLEI) AVP for Business Development Nicole Mariz Deato, is the first-ever Video-On-Demand (VOD) service in the Philippines.
I first heard of the service way back in 2013 but with a not so comforting reviews from users. Most of the problems were streaming speed related which BLINK has attended to by upgrading their technology with a system that allows the service to adjusts to the gadget and network capabilities for better viewing experience.
In the later part of 2014, news agencies announced the partnership of Omni Digital Media Ventures Inc. (the digital arm of Solar Entertainment Corporation) and SMLEI.
This year, BLINK is being relaunched under the management of SMLEI which operates the Philippine’s biggest cinema chain (SM Cinemas). The all-new BLINK prides itself with unique film contents and a wide library of the latest movies and TV series that you can just PRESS PLAY at your own comfort and convenience.
BLINK features exclusive, never before seen movies. Those films that never actually made it to the big screens go directly to Blink Online Cinema so you’ll never have to miss out on any movie, ever again.
THE LATEST FILMS
BLINK lets you in on the cinematic experience just 2-3 months after its theatrical run. They promise to get all the cool stuff faster than any other Video-On-Demand services in the country. For example, THE MARTIAN is already available on the platform – others don’t have it yet.
PAY PER VIEW
Another unique capability of BLINK is its PPV offers that will make live entertainment and sporting events available on demand. Watch shows as they air live on channels like ETC, 2nd Avenue, BTV and CT.
BLINK is also the only VOD service in the Philippines to offer RENTALS – an option wherein customers can access movies on a per title basis for as low as 75 Pesos. Plus a temporary download option that will make movies readily available on your gadgets for buffer-free viewing within the period of 2-3 days. The add-on service will be made available in February.
BLINK UNLIMITED on the other hand allows subscribers to stream unlimited shows and movies for only 99 Pesos a month. This translates to endless marathons but do make sure that you have the internet connection speed to back it up for hassle-free viewing.
Payment options includes direct to phone bill charging, blink scratch cards and ePLUS prepaid load. You can even use your SM Advantage card points to pay for the service. BLINK also has a tie-up promo with SM Advantage that gives card owners with a FREE trial of the service.
