An epic first season finale for STAGES SESSIONS last Sunday as singer-recording artist Morissette Amon put up a one-of-a-kind performance of various ‘spine-tingling’ hits at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf 26th St Bistro in BGC, Taguig!
The 19 year old semi-finalist of the first season of The Voice of the Philippines opened her acoustic set with a rendition of Jessie J’s ‘Masterpiece’ followed a string of medleys from Rihanna, Nina and even some Disney tunes.
Stages Sessions is produced by Stages Talents headed by its Marketing and Promotions Head Miguel Jimenez with the aim of giving premier artists a bi-monthly intimate venue to showcase their own kind of music, to perform songs that they don’t usually include in their repertoire or tinker with musical genres that they like but are out of their comfort zones. In other words, Stages Sessions is like an extension of their bath rooms (singing in the shower kind of music).
I was at the 26th St. Bistro when Christian Bautista opened the season last September 13 and watched him perform some of OPM’s most liked rock ballads!
Also included in the first season were presented Ryan Christopher, Nanette Inventor, Bullet Dumas and Aicelle Santos who performed with other guests artists like Polly Cabrera, Dane Hipolito, Issa Rodriguez and many others.
For the season finale, Stages Sessions invited the Philippine’s hottest new female performer and OPM’s “Next Big Diva” – Morissette Amon!
I recently watched her belt out a non-stop version of Mariah Carey’s “Joy To The world” at an SM North EDSA event and even mistaken her for the Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo, because the two have some uncanny similarities in physical features. For those who don’t know yet, Sarah G was Morissete Amon’s coach in The Voice of the Philippines.
Here are some of the video’s I’ve taken during the Stages Sessions Season Finale:
Morissette Amon after launching her self-titled debut album and winning several awards this year is now gearing up for her first major concert in 2016 and another theater musical project.

I can’t wait to see the artists line-up for next year’s Stages Sessions! It’s a rare thing to see phenomenal artists on an intimate stage performing live – UNSCRIPTED, AUTHENTIC and SINCERE!
Here’s my wish list for next year: Sam Concepcion with the YFSF finalists (Jam), Karylle with Sponge Cola (Unplugged) and The Company (ala Pentatonix). Merry Christmas! 🙂
