MINIONS, the spin-off film from the successful two-part franchise Despicable Me of Universal Pictures will be showing here in manila starting July 8, 2015 and to celebrate this much-awaited animated feature, SM Cinema, IMAX Theatre and Snack Time together with other Minions-crazy brands like Exploreum, Nestle Koko Krunch, Havaianas, Sunkist, Monde, Tic Tac and Nutella organized yesterday a special Minions Party at the IMAX lobby of SM Mall of Asia.
Kids and their adult companions enjoyed all the awesome booths inside the venue where they’re able to gather special freebies, souvenirs and surprises from various instant games and activities.
Going Minions crazy with me yesterday afternoon is my 11 year old daughter who went gaga over all the wonderful Minions-inspired activities and items that they’re giving away to all the attendees.
After registering you’ll be given a program sheet and a Party Passport where you must (and you should) finish all the tasks – one task for every booth inside the IMAX lobby. Part of your party gear is a Minions Party Hat and a limited edition Popcorn Bucket (with popcorn of course) from Snack Time.
Get your face painted at the Sunkist Booth and bring home a limited edition Minions Sunkist drink. LIKE their FB Page and double your Sunkist loot!
Play the challenges at the Exploreum Booth and take home some Exploreum souvenirs like bags, notebooks and lanyards.
Design your own Nissin Monde Minions Mamon and take home a pair.
Get a free photo souvenir at the Snack Time Photo Booth area and then scoop your own popcorn at the Snack Time Popcorn Booth.
Play the interactive ring toss game at the Havaianas Booth and win kiddie popsicles.
Havaianas also have their own WalkABooth that provides guests with a free instant souvenir photo. At the end of the party, we get to take home two souvenir photos on paper. Here’s a screenshot of one of our photos:
There’s also a balloon twisting exhibition and kids were able to take home a balloon art of their choice. My daughter is afraid of balloons but she also wanted to complete all the tasks on our Party Passport so I was able to convince her to get one. She asked for a bear and the balloon artist made her a small teddy bear holding a rose.
Also part of the Minions Party is an IMAX film showing experience of the 2013 movie Despicable Me 2. Of course, all the kids are ecstatic since they all know that the Minions took centerstage in this film. I am too because it’s my first time viewing this movie on IMAX.
The film showing was followed by a couple of games and other activities for the kids like “Pin The Goggles on the Minion”, “Bring Me”, “Ring Toss” and “Design Your Minions Monde Mamon”.
Kids who came to the party in their Minions costume also got special prizes.
Minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob made their much-awaited appearance before the end of the program and all the kids were able to get their photos taken with the three stars of the upcoming Minions movie. Surprisingly, the three Minions appears to be well-behaved yesterday. *hehehe*
Guests who completed their party passports were given their party loots after the program. The bag is loaded with wonderful Minions-inspired items like Nestle Koko Krunch with a free dancing Minions toy, Sunkist Minions Drinks, Tic Tac Minions Banana Flavor, Monde Design Your Minions Mamon Pack and other Monde Nissin product. I wanted the Nutella but sadly it’s not on the loot. *hahaha*
Aside from the limited edition Minions popcorn bucket, Snack Time also released yesterday its limited edition Minions tumblers with six (6) different collectible toppers. The bucket with popcorn is 99 pesos while the tumbler is 149 pesos, just add 30 pesos for a 22oz drink. Get it at all Snack Time shops in all SM Cinemas and at the Mall of Asia Arena, Exploreum, SM Bowling Center, SM Skating Rink and Waltermart Cinemas.
