The world’s most successful high-end doughnut and coffee shop – Krispy Kreme, just opened its 1000th store in Kansas City yesterday (February 24)!
From their very first North Carolina store in 1937, Krispy Kreme has grown into a doughnut empire that has occupied 23 countries all over the world. Its first store in the Philippines opened in 2006 and became one of the first stores to ever set foot on the newly developed Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig.
And this is where I was last night, celebrating the doughnut shop’s global achievement together with the cool people of Krispy Kreme The Fort headed by Krispy Kreme Philippines CEO Ms. Sharon Fuentebella and our beautiful host Asst. Marketing Manager Ms. Ariane Martinez- Valinton.
Yesterday morning, 36 participating Krispy Kreme stores nationwide gave away 1000 free original glazed doughnuts to early customers to celebrate the monumental achievement. Why all the generosity? Well, it’s not everyday that you see a fast food restaurant or any store for that matter to inaugurate its 1000th branch and sustain the life of 999 stores more. So this is a great feat indeed.
Krispy Kreme gave us a lot of sweet treats last night. We were able to dig in to two of their newest flavors – Salted Chocolate and Smores. And because I am staying away from coffee for awhile, I ordered as my dinner drink their Chocolate Cookie with Oreo Chiller. Very delicious, if I may add.
Did you know also that you can now order a party and event package from Krispy Kreme for as low as 10,500 pesos? This includes the Krispy Kreme booth complete with balloons and paper hats plus a Krispy Kreme representative to assist you for a full 4-hour party! Have it with any of these cool options:
- Package A: 19 dozen Original Glazed doughnuts
- Package B: 12 dozen Assorted Holiday doughnuts
- Package C: 10 dozen Original Glazed and 6 dozen Assorted Holiday doughnuts
Make the party even more interesting with this fully customizable (if there is such a word) Doughnut Tower! An all original glazed tower for only 1,429 pesos and an assorted doughnut tower for 1,550 pesos.
I also tried dressing-up my original glazed doughnuts. It’s really very easy, you just dunk a portion of the doughnut on the swirling warm chocolate mixture (which I thought at first was a cotton candy-making machine), then dress it up with candy sprinkles or use the icing mixtures to make a unique design on your doughnut. It’s really fun to do actually.
Krispy Kreme also gave out limited edition ball caps and other novelty items (mugs and ceramic tumblers) during the games and we all got to take home six original glazed doughnuts placed in a Krispy Kreme Tin Can and a cool Krispy Kreme T-Shirt as souvenirs!
Krispy Kreme Novelty Items are available at their stores: Tin Can (395 Pesos), Novelty Mug (120/125/135), Ceramic Tumbler (300), Ball Caps (305), and T-Shirts (295/395).
