Young Kapuso November birthday celebrants Elijah Alejo, Joshua Uy and Joshen Bernardo visited Salapan Elementary School in San Juan last Tuesday, November 25 to celebrate their special day with grade school students and donate electric fan units to the school.
School Principal Mercedita Rafael welcomed the three young talented GMA actors to their school and introduced them to their students.
Salapan Elementary school was established in 1971. It is located near the San Juan River along the street of S. Veloso. The town was named Salapan because it was once noted that the area used to have a lot of fish called “lapan” – the people call their fishing nets as “Salapang” and eventually, the name Salapang evolved to Salapan and was assigned to the town. The school has 4 sections in each grade level while its pre-school has only 3 sections. Before Ondoy, Salapan has 24 classrooms and 8 function rooms. With the increase in its enrolment, the Clinic, Home Economics, and the library area have all been converted into classrooms.
Majority of the pupils in Salapan come from the nearby streets surrounding the school and Quezon City.
Hosted by Tess Bomb, Joshen, Joshua and Elijah played games with the pupils of Salapan Elementary School. The kids showed talents in dancing and acting while the birthday celebrants danced and sing for their guests as well.
After the program, the students all lined up to the different booths inside the school to get their special treats and lunch. It was like a mini school fair courtesy of sponsors Monreo Biscuits, Thai Tea, Mogu Mogu, Moosegear, Zagu, Sundance, Kambal Pandesal, OK Quench Juice Drink and Yanyan.
The smiles on the faces of the students were priceless!
More about Elijah, Joshua and Joshen:
After the program, I was able to talk to the three Kapuso kids and for those who don’t know them yet – here’s your chance. These talented little kiddos might be the biggest names in showbiz in the future.
Elijah or Maria Regina Cristina Jennygale Maño Pili in real life got discovered in the Nutrilin TV commercial way back in 2011 using that very long name. She then appeared in many GMA shows like Cielo De Angelina and recently in Sa Puso Ni Doc with Dennis Trillo and Bella Padilla. She’s now 10 and celebrated her birthday last November 13 in Tagaytay together with her family. Elijah told me that they stayed at the Taal Vista Hotel for two days and went on tour which includes Sky Ranch and the scenic Taal Volcano.
Elijah is also a big fan of Arianna Grande, and her current favorite song from the artist is ‘Break Free.’ Elijah also looks up to Kapuso actresses Carla Abellana and Marian Rivera.
You probably got to know this cute kid from the 2013 GMA children’s show ‘One Day Isang Araw’ together with Jillian Ward, Milkcah Nacion and Marc Justine Alvarez. But prior to appearing on his first TV show, Joshua has appeared in over 30 TV commercials already. Advertisers seems to like this little kid and for good reasons too. He’s an excellent child actor and a great conversationalist.
Joshua who turned 8 last November 19 has a goal in mind! He wants a car, and not just any ordinary car – a ferrari or a lamborghini. Plus, he also wants a brand new house. And that’s as simple and specific that you can get from an 8-year old boy! I love it!
Joshua will be appearing as Marky in the upcoming GMA TV series ‘Second Chances.’ He’s going to be the son of Jennylyn Mercado.
Originally from Star Magic and starring in TV shows like Juan Dela Cruz, Angelito: Batang Ama and Maria La Del Barrio, Joshen recently transferred to GMA Artist Center early this year.
Joshen turned 9 years old last November 15 and told rainCHECK that he celebrated it with family and friends at Shakeys Restaurant in front of Ateneo. The young actor already appeared in the GMA shows Tropang Potchi and Elemento. And this coming January 2015, he will star in the TV series ‘Second Chances’ together with Jennylyn Mercado, Raymart Santiago, Luis Alandy, Camille Prats, Rafael Rosell, and Frencheska Farr.
His role here will be traumatic and dramatic. Joshen plays the role of Billy, the adopted son of Raymart Santiago who was sold as a child by her parents for a still undisclosed reason. I can tell that Joshua will probably make a lot of TV viewers cry in this series.
Happy Birthday Elijah, Joshua and Joshen!
