The Chinese New Year celebration is just around the corner, 12 days to be exact and people are already building up at the Sta. Cruz and Binondo area.
Chinatown is never more alive. People from all over Metro Manila and even the nearby provinces flocks the street of Ongpin just to get their hands on some authentic tikoy, other Chinese delicacies and good luck charms. There are lots of places to visit in the area like the creek side restaurants, a couple of first class hotels and of course Megaworld’s Lucky Chinatown Mall located at the Reina Regente area and just a couple blocks away from Binondo Church (Minor Basilica of San Lorenzo Ruiz).
But probably, what people from all walks of life are looking forward to in Chinatown during the Chinese New Year are the wonderful dishes being offered by the restaurants in the area. Like the one served at the oldest fast food restaurant in Ongpin – CHUAN KEE.
CHUAN KEE is owned by the Eng Bee Tin Group of Companies of Mr. Gerry Chua and family which includes Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli, Mr. Ube Rice and Noodle House and Cafe Mezzanine.
CHUAN KEE is located along Ongpin St., and nearest the Binondo area. Craving for some authentic Chinese noodles, I visited the area a couple of days ago and ordered some of their specialties.
If you’re looking for authentic Chinese dishes served in fast food style, then CHUAN KEE is the place for you.
