SHE’S THE ONE?
“Ako tingin ko oo, and I hope I am right and I am pretty sure I am.”
This is DingDong Dantes’ answer to the question if he already found the ‘She’s The One’ of his life during Star Cinema’s SHE’S THE ONE bloggers conference held at the WangFu Restaurant in Tomas Morato last Monday.
In the film, Dingdong plays the role of Wacky who falls in love with best friend Cat played by actress BEA ALONZO.
In real life, Dingdong admits that he also have girl bestfriends and said that it’s really hard to not take the relationship to the next level specially when you both have mutual admiration.
“But it’s really great to actually have a girlfriend that is also your best friend. Ganoon kami ni Marian.”
However, Dingdong said that He and Marian started out as enemies. They didn’t really like each other that much – they hated each other – but they still ended up together and became the best of friends today.
Aside from Dingdong, fellow actor ENRIQUE GIL, director MAE CRUZ and the writers Ms. MELAI MONGE, Ms. VANESSA VALDEZ, Ms. CHARLENE ESGUERRA and ANTON SANTAMARIA were also present during the conference.
“She’s The One is a light romance movie that anyone can relate to. It’s a story about friendship, second chances and love. Marami ang makaka-relate dito.”
Speaking about second chances, Dingdong said during the interview that if there’s one thing that he felt regret was with the amount of time spent with his siblings.
“When I was starting out in this business, I was about Enrique’s age that time, nawalan ako ng time para sa mga kapatid ko because I chose to be busy with work and my showbiz career. And we were so close that time. Di ko na maibabalik yun of course pero kinailangan ko marealize yun para makabawi din ako sa mga kakulangan ko sa kanila. Right now, I am spending more time with them and trying to get to know them again – pero siyempre hindi na maibabalik yung mga nawalang oras.”
The others also shared some of their most personal moments and regrets in life:
“more than a year ago, namatay yung mom ko, nagkasakit kasi siya and I was trying to make up for lost time pero siyempre huli na.” – Ms. Melai
“my lola was in the hosital then and ako ang bantay, pinalitan ako ng Dad ko and on my way home I have this feeling na parang gusto ko bumalik. When I got home, my dad called and said na namatay na ang lola ko and nanghihinayang ako, sana bumalik na lang ako sa hospital.” – Anton
“My life changed 6 years ago. The things that happened to me made me realized that I spent almost three (3) decades of my life not saying thank you enough and not loving more. I loved my brothers and sisters more right after that experience.” – Ms. Vanessa
“Tama ba ang desisyon ko to pursue this career. This job has taken so much time of my youth and time with my family. I almost got married before and lost that chance as well. The question was would my life be different if I chose differently. But I know that I wouldn’t be where I am right now if not for the choices that I’ve made. So, no regrets actually and just continue learning from my experiences and mistakes.” – Direk Mae
“There was this year na there have been a lot of deaths in the family, a close friend, my grandma, my uncle and an aunt all in the span of just 3 Months. So many regrets. But a good friend said to me two things that I will never forget. One, Whatever choice we make, whether love, job or spending time with other people there will always be regrets. Stay or go meron palagi. So when you make a choice, you choose the one that gives you the least amount of regret. Two, You can’t live a hundred lives. We all dream of doing a lot of things but it is impossible to do that. So choose one because you only have one life to live and enjoy every single moment – and that is what the film, SHE’S THE ONE is all about.” – Ms. Charlene
The interview turned into a very touching sharing moment for everyone, and that statement from Ms. Charlene is something everyone could live to go by with.
Dingdong’s favorite part in the film SHE’S THE ONE is the ‘Ice Cream’ scene. The scene reflects the closeness of Wacky and Cat in the movie.
SHE’S THE ONE head writer Vanessa Valdez said,
“This is my first time working with Dong and honestly I am waiting always to be surprised by him and I was! Iba si Dingdong, lalaking-lalaki yung pinapanood ko – alpha male siya. We even requested him to do a dance sequence in this movie kasi it’s needed and he actually did it with so much gusto.” Vanessa said.
Dingdong is not a stranger to Star Cinema, he already did a number of films with the production company and he’s going to do another movie with them again soon.
SHE’S THE ONE is already in cinema’s nationwide and drawing tons and tons of movie-goers. Here’s the official movie trailer:
