Last Friday, I attended a MOTHER’S DAY celebration for the women of KAISANG BUHAY FOUNDATION together with Kapuso hunks Enzo Pineda, Ken Chan, Mike Tan, Steven Silva and Aljur Abrenica.
Organized by the Events and Publicity Unit of the GMA Artist Center, the Mother’s Day Outreach program was held at the Nazareth Home For Single Mothers in Project 4, Quezon City. KAISANG BUHAY FOUNDATION is a private, non-profit, child and family welfare organization who believes in the principle that every child deserves a loving and permanent family. With programs centered on Family Preservation, Family Reunification and Permanent Placement, the group aims to promote the holistic development of every child through the nurturance and strengthening of families.
I am so glad to become a part of this wonderful project and to see how all five young Kapuso actors made the afternoon fun for all the wonderful mom participants of the GMA Artist Center Mother’s Day Outreach Program.
Enzo, Ken, Steven, Mike and Aljur serenaded all the moms and even gave each one of them roses and white balloons to express their appreciation not only to all those who were present during the program but to all moms in general.
The five (5) Kapuso male stars gave their heart-warming messages to all the participants, wishing them all a Happy Mother’s Day and with great emphasis on their importance that, without moms and their loving care, they wouldn’t be where they are right now.
“My mom has always been supportive of my career since day one, since starstruck days until now, I always come to her for pieces of advice especially when the showbiz ways of life gets to me at times.” – Mike Tan
“My mom helped me a lot. Since I grew up in the states, she helped me adjust to the new environment and helped me to keep my feet stay grounded no matter what.” – Steven Silva
“My mom has always been there for me. No ifs, no buts, just pure motherly love.” – Ken Chan
“I know kung gaano kahirap maging mom, nakikita ko kasi sa mom ko, ang mommy kasi laging nandyan para sa anak nya, para mahalin siya kahit na minsan nagiging pasaway… a mom will never give up loving her son or daughter.” – Enzo Pineda
After the program, moms were treated to a wonderful afternoon snack plus some gifts from the generous Kapuso Mother’s Day Outreach Program supporters like Bench, Century Tuna, Calayan Surgicenter, Erase Placenta, Ok Quench and Guitar 60.
Hosting the program were Baranggay LS’ Papa Dudut and Tess Bomb. Also present is Dr. Manny Calayan of Calayan Surgicenter.
