Peri-Peri or Piri-Piri, otherwise known as African Birds Eye Chili is where the name of Peri-Peri Grill House Promenade in Greenhills derived. It is also the sauce that makes the distinguishing taste of their special Chicken.
I was at Peri-Peri Grill House Promenade last Monday with a couple of friends and we tried out their famous whole Chicken recipes. That was my first time at Peri-Peri Grill House and I really don’t know what to expect so being the curious one, I asked for a couple of minute interview with their Manager Ms. Joie Agdeppa and she was kind enough to answer a few questions about the restaurant.
According to Ms. Joie, Peri-Peri Grill House is a Portuguese-themed restaurant manged by iFoods. African Birds Eye Chili (Peri-Peri) is a popular sauce found in several Portuguese dishes. So whenever you dine at Peri-Peri Grill House you’ll get that Portuguese restaurant feel.
There are three other branches of Peri-Peri. They have one in SM North EDSA, SM Megamall and another one in Davao. But what set Peri-Peri Grill House in Promenade, Greenhills apart from the other branches aside from being the first branch is that, the other branches uses charcoal in grilling their Chicken while Peri-Peri Grill House Promenade uses the traditional Japanese Robata method in grilling their chickens.
Peri-Peri Grill House which started in September of 2008 has 3 managers and around 15-16 kitchen and dining crews. They are open daily at 11 in the morning and closes at 10:30 on weekdays and 11:30 during weekends.
Their specialties aside from the African Birds Eye Chili (Peri-Peri) sauces which can be bought in bottles for 75 pesos each is of course their grilled chickens.
Here’s a look at the three different kinds of grilled chicken preparations that they are offering at Peri-Peri Grill House.
May favorite is of course the HOT Peri-Peri grilled chicken. The chicken comes out with a different feel when you put some African Birds Eye Chili sauce on to it. Try their hot, mild and plain chili sauces to bring out a different flavor in every bite.
I went for the Black Forrest smoothie and for dessert – their super awesome Blueberry New York Cheese Cake. Best tasting late lunch ever!
Peri-Peri Grill House also prides itself with their other best selling recipes like Shrimp Diablo and Quesadilla. Being a grill house they also serve cocktails and alcoholic beverages which the other branches don’t do. So naturally, the restaurant is more active during the night, after office hours and the weekends.
Their menu are priced reasonably and you really get value for your money here. I recommend you try Peri-Peri Grill House in Promenade, Greenhills.
