The opening of the Year of Faith coincides with the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and the 20th anniversary of the release of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It also serves as an invitation for everyone to look closely at the contemporary world, its beauty and wounds.
