Last August 16 (Thursday), I was at SM Hypermarket Cubao to witness the grand media launch of SM Master Chef 2012.

SM Master Chef 2012 has three exciting features: 1) A Cooking Marathon scheduled in different SM outlets, 2) A Free Carinderia Makeover Promo and 3) A Master Recipe Contest.

SM Hypermarket Cubao came alive with bursting festive colors and cooking booths that featured the different master brands (sponsor brands) this year and their master chefs whipping out some exciting dishes for all the media guests.  The cooking booths belongs to sponsors Bounty Fresh, CDO, Nestle, Purefoods (San Miguel) and Knorr (Unilever Food Solutions).  And here are their Chefs and what they’ve prepared for us:

Chef Paulo, Chef RJ, Chef Arnold and Chef Tess


Chef Arnold is currently the General Manager of Deep Dips Foodstuff, the Executive Chef of Montemar Beach Club and a Chef/Consultant for Wheatberry Bakery and Cafe.  He is also a contributing Food Writer for Cook Magazine.  Chef Arnold was the Ultimate Chef Warrior of QTV11’s Kitchen Battles and the first runner-up of the 1st and 2nd home Cook of the Year.

CHEF PAULO SIA (Knorr – Unilever Food Solutions)

Chef Paulo graduated from the Center for Culinary Arts and trained in various Asian countries like Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand.  He is a member of Le Toques Blanche Phil and worked in various hotels such as Linden Suites, Sofitel, Discovery Suites and Intercon.

CHEF RJ GARCIA (Purefoods – San Miguel)

Chef RJ graduated from DLSU- St. Benilde with a Bachelors degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management and is currently the Product Application Specialist and Retail Chef of the San Miguel Pure Foods Culinary Center.

Chef Tess graduated from St. Paul College of Manila with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and is currently the Consumer Food Executive of Nestle and handles the activities of the Julius Maggi Kitchen.  She is also the author of the best seller Daily Delights Cookbook and Celebrating 100 Years of  Cooking with Nestle Cookbook.

Chef Tess prepared Creamy Munggo Guisado and Sigarillas at Papaya Gising-Gising.

And here is CHEF MENOY GIMENEZ (CDO) preparing the Red Velvet Ciabatta Sandwich

Chef Menoy is the Executive Chef of Cravings and Casa Roces.
