The iPhone 5 is said to be significantly thinner (c7.6mm) than the 9.3mm iPhone 4S. The new device is also rumored to carry a new 9-pin Dock connector with a larger display – larger than the 4-inch models. Plus, it is also expected to use a nano-SIM card (whatever that is). The iPhone 4S was dubbed as an evolutionary upgrade with a faster processor and an improved camera capability. I sincerely doubt that the new iPhone is likely to bring a more revolutionary approach but then again, Apple is full of surprises.
One thing is for sure though, Apple is already discounting their older models and has been boosting the sales of the iPhone 4 (which is thought to be a preparation for the arrival of a new phone model). If the rumors are true, then Apple is coming back to the 12-month release cycles of new phone models. So, are we expecting new iPhone modifications every year?
Current sales predictions for the ‘new iPhone’ is set at 250 million units.
