Honda Motor Co., Ltd. of Japan and Honda Foundation, Inc. will donate ¥1M (about Php 500,000) to families affected by the recent floods that hit the country and One Million Pesos to help provide aid and assistance to the families and communities devastated by the recent calamity.
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. fully understands the plight of the 539,838 families or 2 million Filipinos affected by the heavy floods, which continues to remain a significant economic and political issue in the Philippines and thereby announced to give a monetary assistance to assist the flood victims.
Following the proactive example of their parent company, Honda Foundation, Inc., the working organization for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities of the Honda Group in the Philippines: Honda Philippines, Inc. (motorcycle manufacturer), Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (car manufacturer), Honda Parts Manufacturing Corp. (Honda parts supplier), and Honda Trading Philippines also announced a donation of One Million Pesos for disaster recovery and rebuilding efforts.
It’s a good thing that Filipinos have benevolent neighbors and business partners that never ceases to provide help in times of need. Honda’s financial assistance will surely provide families who were affected by the flood a good leverage to recovery.
I hope that the Philippine government will seriously look at long term solutions and urban planning proposals for the Metro to prevent disasters like this in the future. Kudos to the people from Honda for continued support to the Philippines.
