Protégé: The Battle For The Big Break’s first grand champion Krizza Neri launches her first recording album today, June 19 at Patio Carlito, White House on the 84th Restobar, Sct. Tuason, Quezon City.
Her self-titled album consists of 11 tracks including “Ba’t di ko ba nasabi?” GMA TV Series ”The Good Daughter” theme song. It was produced by her Protégé mentor Aiza Seguerra under Blackbird Music and distributed by Universal Records.
Since her victory in the said competition, Krizza has been a regular at Party Pilipinas.
Krizza Neri performed LIVE four tracks from her album which includes LOOK MY WAY, KUNG MALALAMAN MO, BA’T DI KO BA NASABI and a duet with mentor-producer AIZA SEGUERRA for the song IF I COULD/WIND BENEATH MY WINGS.
The 16 year old Protege winner from Cagayan De Oro have more reasons to be thankful this year with the launching of her debut album just in time for her birthday on June 28.
After winning the big break in Protege and the release of her debut album – What is Krizza wishing for next?
KRIZZA – Success for the new album, more songs and more projects – continuity.
How was it like working with AIZA SEGUERRA?
KRIZZA – Aiza is a dear friend. We’ve gotten to know each other very well during Protege and she has been very supportive of me ever since.
What was the criteria in choosing the songs for the album?
AIZA – “Kung ano yung kakagat sa puso ko.”
KRIZZA – Leah Salongga, Ogie Alcasid and Gloc 9
Everybody knows that the Philippine music industry is not that profitable as before – why bank on producing an album for Krizza?
AIZA – I’m doing this not to make money from it. I believe in Krizza. I believe in her talent. Even if the industry is not that good right now, I believe that good music will still come out. I want her to be heard.
During the forum, Aiza Seguerra went emotional when asked about putting pegs on artists. She said that she don’t believe in that thing. ”Huwag Peg-an ang artist… ” Every person is unique. I specially don’t want my name to be used as a verb or an adjective. (she was referring to statements in showbiz issues like “Si Charice uma-AIZA.”) – A personal preference is personal – it’s a choice. As long as it does not do you harm, respect the choice. – Aiza said
Right at that moment, I was admiring AIZA more as a person than her being an artist. Good one Aiza.
The album has 10 tracks all-in-all, with 1 Bonus track – “Ba’t Di Ko Nasabi” which is also its carrier single. Here are the tracks:
- Look my Way
- No More You and Me
